How common is male color blindness in your real-life experience?

So 1 in 12 men are color blind and I have fact checked this... Have you discovered this to be true in your lifetime with any friends or family. It turns out that my brother is. He has asked me before multiple times if a shirt was green or blue.

Well lets put it this way a woman was talking to her architect who is another women and they were having trouble on deciding on a grout color. They were dilly dallying over 5 different grey colors. They called me over since I'm apparently artistic and asked me my opinion. and without knowing I blindly named 3 of the grey colors accurately to the letter and said don't use those and then picked a different grey out of a stack of 30 random grey grouts and said this is more silvery and a neutral grey, it's not warm, it's not cool, it's just right. It will work with that tile, go with that and I walked away. It took me a whole of 30 seconds. It turned out to be Silverado grout color. They loved the end result and are very happy with it. I don't install tile for a living. I know next to nothing about grout colors. I've installed tile 2 or 3 times in my life on DIY projects. I have however done plenty of 2D art work, and I like doing black and white ink art and using alcohol markers in artwork. So even in a pool of 30 shades of grays that are very close in color I can accurately distinguish between them and make good decisions in less than a minute while women struggle after 20 or 30 minutes to make a decision.

hmm... I've known quite a few dudes with some kind of color blindness but never a woman and some of them didn't even know they were  a type of colorblind ... lmfao apparently, there's a few

My son is color blind. When I asked the doctor what does that mean, he said that he will never be a telephone man because of all of the different colored wires a phone has.

In high school I was the only one who raised 🤚🏼 their hand when the teacher asked "Does anyone see the word onion? 🧅 Everyone else saw the word color.

My father was Color blind. kept him from being a bombardier in WWll, Factoid, He was blond haired and hazel eyed and could not distinguish red from green.

My career has included building user interfaces for computer system users. We're very careful to not use only color, we use icon shapes, flashing and color together, because some of the users, mostly male, are colorblind to some degree.

I know a few colorblind guys. In my experience, it's probably more like 1 in 50 guys that are colorblind.

The only one I know is the former owner of our little local store. I guess he was all set to be a pilot in the Air Force but someone figured out he was color blind before he got in a plane.

I'm not colour blind but it's common to lose colour distinctions with age. I struggle to differentiate green and blue, for example.
