Is it safe to give my best friend chocolate with her irregular heartbeat?

My best friend is very obese and she has recently been found to have an irregular heart beat, by her doctor. I had told her before we knew of this, that I’d give her an Easter egg. Is it wiser not to, or to give her something else instead, that she can use but not eat?

A single chocolate Easter egg is not going to kill her or even cause a measurable increase in weight. It's the thought that counts as the saying goes. But maybe accompany the gift with sincerely telling her that you support her in losing weight and will be there by her side no matter what. Just don't promise her any more chocolate or other unhealthy food. You can tell her that too.

You can also support her by doing some research into her condition. I don't know her exact condition, but an irregular heartbeat is not usually as bad as it sounds. But she still needs to lose weight and get healthy.

I don't think one Easter egg is gonna put her over the edge. If she is that overweight she needs help and guidance. Eating for her has probably taken on some pathology and obviously bad habits. This is something you probably won't be able to help her with.

You can express you love and concern though.

I'm a cardiac patient but have never heard of chocolate being a problem for myself, although I'm far from being obese.
