Can deep emotional meditation really improve sleep quality?

I began heavily meditating this week by bringing up unconscious emotions that are hidden under clouds of suppression and after almost a week of doing this, I notice I sleep better than I did before. I always slept pretty well, but in the past I was addicted to yogurt and chicken and could not fall asleep at all unless I had yogurt or chicken before I went to bed because my body could not sleep unless I ate vitamin B6 in my diet during the day.

Now I can fall asleep without eating yogurt or chicken before I go to bed and I can usually fall asleep very quickly as well.

I do not like yogurt because the cheaper brands I always buy contain maltodextrin and the healthy brands that do not contain maltodextrin, cost much more money.
