They are OK with yoga as an additional form of exercise and stretching, but not as an eastern spiritual practice and not as a cure for any disease. Get a copy of "Alternative Medicine" by O'Mathuna and Larimore and it will go through many of these "medical" treatments, the pluses and minuses.
I've never heard of Christians being against yoga so it's probably a very fringe type that doesn't like it purely because of the Hindu/Buddhist connection, which is silly - this is definitely not the prevailing opinion
Christian claim that the devil is out to get them.
Well sure, but I'm not sure how that's relevant lol
This is new to me. As a Christian I never heard other Christians hating on yoga. But if they do it could be due to yoga being practiced by Hindus and Buddhists?
I was told this by the pentecostal church.
Really? Christians don't like yoga? That's really strange in my opinion. I will say though... it's really attractive when a girl can do yoga, due to her flexibility and being able to go into some pretty sexy positions. Maybe that's part of the reason why.
Karate is also fine... it's just about self defense. Learning about self defense is never a bad thing in case you get yourself into a dangerous situation.
It could also be because people who practice yoga wear some pretty tight outfits that show off all the curves of their body.
Intresting well a frined of mine invited me to her pentecostal church and I saw a lot of woman wearing super short short andncrop top yet the pastor didn't bother to say anything to them.
That seems to be the trend nowadays. Girls seem to be wearing less and less. I was out yesterday kicking a ball around and on my way to the park, there was a group of young girls, and they were all in the short shorts where you could pretty much see half their butts. I immediately tried to look down and walked to the other side of the street to pass them because it felt inappropriate to even be looking ahead.
Even if it's the norm, it doesn't change how people react to what they're wearing. I do think girls should dress a bit more conservatively these days. If I was a father to a daughter, I'd try to make sure she dresses someone way conservatively at the least. But ah well. It is what it is. That's just what society is right now.
I've not seen many that do. Probably because of the religious connection to Hinduism.
Karate is a martial art as is jujitsu/judo that is largely westernised and sportorised like western martial arts. Remember Christians practiced martial arts long before Karate was established.
Karate does not promote violence. If that’s what you think it does, then karate isn’t for you. Someone who has that mentality is going to use it for that reason. People who know better understand it’s more than self defense. It’s about discipline, confidence, poise, respect, physical fitness, etc, etc.
You know you can buy a spell book and cast spells on people who done you wrong KARMA.
I have never met a devout Christian that wasn't a full-fledged hypocrite.
I stau away from all these religous lunatics.
Yoga is bases on Hindu gods and positions to praise that god. Karate is a self defense discipline that many Christians do to better themselves and be able to protect themselves or others.
Because they are silly people.
I like both
