As a man who lift weights six days a week and has also done yoga, I can tell you that the two are not the same. I have a friend who is a master yoga instructor, and she put me through the paces one day, and I was so sore the next day I could hardly walk! Both approaches have their benefits. The reason I think more females are drawn to yoga is because of the way it is pitched and marketed in western culture. It is pitched and marketed primarily to a female demographic. And thus, I don't think men see themselves doing it because of the way it is marketed. But I do think guys should give it a try. It is an amazing, ancient approach to the body!
Do you want a guy which is made out of rubber or stone?
If you want someone who brings up your stuff to the fifth floor you ain't call somebody out of rubber or cute.
You want a guy which can protect you or get break in half by protecting you.
Women get influenced easily with things that promote - beauty - . Also women think they look great on yoga pants. So it’s the “ end result “ of what yoga offers to us. While men want to achieve that beauty and muscle exercises differently.
Since is a way that’s a scary trinity yoga+meditation+ vegan.. = soy boi
They do look great in yoga pants though
Men don't have the patience to do yoga. Everytime I've tried to do it with my husband he starts complaining about how slow it is/how it doesn't feel like a workout/that he needs something more intense. So yeah men just have a harder time getting into that slow vibe of yoga compared to women

Estrogen makes our bodies more flexible.
Kind of.. it's actually the fact that men have 10 times the testosterone that women do, thus creating a natural muscle density and thickness that makes males inherently less flexible than females.
By nature, women's bodies are more flexible than men's, so it's a form of exercise that I think women would gravitate towards more often. When I was younger I used to do yoga a lot and can say that I benefited from it even as a man, and your body does feel way better and lighter.
Men tend to think yoga is feminine because the poses appear to be of feminine form, even though yoga was pretty much invented by Indian men in the ancient times, and they made writings on it too.
It's only natural that more women would want to be in tune with Mother Nature. But if that's all you're doing then you're missing the point. Yoga is only a percentage of the entire philosophy. Many don't want to put in the full fledge time. Also for the most part men are overly aggressive yet they wonder why they're alone.
Women blindly follow trends especially when they have to do with diet an exercise. Before yoga, they were sliding around on slippery plastic matts thinking they were burning tons of callories. Before that women were doing Tae Bo. Before that women were watching Jazzercise videos. Whatever trend is advertised by the media to lose 10 pounds, women will follow it blindly with all the other women because they think it's the next miracle cure.
This is just my opinion and I'm only giving one because I've done yoga. The shit is difficult, wastes my time, and doesn't achieve the results I can get from 90 minutes of weight lifting. Can't lift heavy shit and would rather stretch and balance and shit... it's up to you... not my problem.
Females are more inherently flexible than men. The socket from the femur to the pelvis is quite different between males and females for example. Yoga is a lot about flexibility as well as breathing.
Yoga also helps create the body lines females would like to have.
I think yoga is seen as a spiritual experience and a humbling experience and that attracts more women then men, men tend to be more interested in activities with measurable benefits like karate where you have levels and status changes.
Men want mostly big muscles and like yoga doesn't give you that it gives you core strength and flexibility
I think a lot of guys would rather spend that time lifting weights, of course not all just a higher percentage. JMO!
Never done yoga in my life and I'm not planning to. I'd rather eat maccies and watch desperate housewives
Men don't pay for thing they can do for free. So you won't see many men in yoga classes, since they can perform said things at home for free.
I think as others have said it’s more feminine so. But do as you please
I don't know, cause' even I don't really care about yoga
I prefer exercises that get me amped up with a lot of moving
I mean, it's not exactly a masculine activity.
Some men are into it, most aren't.
It is what it is
Because why spend and hour doing yoga when you can get the same or better results with a 10 minute weight lifting session
This is a notion unique to the west. Go to India and you'll find that everyone does yoga
Because they think that’s the way to be fit enough.
Because they desire male attention so much. And that is because they desire men.
@ManOnFire nailed it.
A lot of men aren't nearly as flexible.
Yoga is boring.
Yoga= lazy peoples workout.
They have a lot more time for this
