Is it okay to focus on nutrition instead of calories for weight loss?

On Monday I had El Paso Organic Blue Corn Chips, home made mango guacamole dip and home made onion with salsa, as well as cabbage soup, and my calories from the blue corn chips and mango guacamole dip was sky high, but I considered my meal to be good for weight loss because my meal was highly nutritious and organic and the dips were home made.

I notice when I eat healthy food, I do not gain weight for long periods of time, if I am on vacation or at a party or at a buffet and my weight goes up 6 pounds but my diet there was healthy, it goes down 6 pounds within 2-4 days as well, because weight gain from eating healthy food is not permanent, it is only the weight that you gain you get from eating junk food that is permanent and almost impossible to lose.
