How would you react if you found out you had cancer?

I'm going to the doctors now for a cancer screening. Iv had a lump in my right testicle for weeks. No what happens. I''ll stand my ground and will never lose hope that I can still live a happy life. I will not be afraid no matter what life throws at me.

In case anyone was wondering. He said he felt no nodules or tumors. But its not 100% certain. If the pain becomes worse then il go in for an Cat Scan to see for sure if there's cancer. But as of right now he doesn't think it is. I'm very happy for that. And if anything happens my life isn't over. He said he's amputated guys testicles before. And they still have loving relationships. And my heart goes out to all of you with relatives affected by cancer.

First of all : you have winning attitude right there, and that's really good. There's no point in thinking for the worst when you don't really know yet. It could always be something else, less serious :)

Now, if it is some kind of cancer, some of them actually have an efficient treatment.

I am not aware of the different kind of testicle cancer, but that's something you could look into if you're diagnosed with one.

As you know, I've lived with someone through cancer, so I'll try to give you my answer as clearly as I can :)

If I found out I had cancer, I guess I would try to remain down-to-earth about it. (Easier said than done, I know :P )

I'd try to seek information about it.

How does it works, are we able to treat it/cure it ? How heavy is the therapeutic pattern ? How many people get diagnosed with this cancer ? What are the odds of having a recurrence ?

I would gather as many things as possible about it. If I know what I have, what I will probably experience, I'm less likely to be afraid of it :)

I'd be down for a while, of course, but it's not in my nature to let things bring me down for too long. The energy and will to fight could even help my own body fighting for himself, who knows ;)

this is a difficult story for me,but my mother had cancer. She had osteosarcoma, which is bone cancer in her jaw. She did not smoke, she was completely healthy. The doctor said that she developed cancer due to an xray. I know many people will say that is not possible, but one of the best cancer specialists in American said this was the cause. Due to the fact of how the x-ray hit her. She had half of her lower jaw removed and replaced with a legbone. It was a horrid procedure, and she had a trach and I had to feed her through a tube in her stomach for a couple of months. Her leg oozed pus for about a year, and the scars are horrible.

I will always feel sorry for her, and feel obligated to do things I never would have done before.

A positive attitude will help you get through a situation involving cancer.

My mother didn't let it get her down, and you shouldn't either. Our flaws are what makes us beautiful , amazing and inspirational people. You will be in my thoughts.

I had brain cancer and had to have an emergency 9 hour brain surgery in October. I lost my ability to walk, talk, eat, write, swallow, and my eyes won't align now causing me to see double. Despite this after 8 days in ICU and 7 days in rehab I went home. I had a very good positive attitude about it though and was even joking with my doctors and nurses. But after being home for a month I slipped into deep depression. After being prescribed some antidepressants things got a bit better. I have completed radiation and am now walking again. I started work even though my vision is still messed up and my balance is now terrible. But sometime this summer I am having surgery to correct my vision and I find out later this month if there are any cancer cells left alive. I thought I was going die before my surgery. I was prepared to die and was at peace. I saw all my sisters sisters before my surgery and had no regrets. What I wasn't prepared for was the recovery that I would have to go through. No matter how hard you try to stay positive it seams like the odds are stacked against you. I honestly think that if I had to go through it again I would rather die.

my brother had cancer when he was 27! He WAS such a happy person but since that day he changed completely...he became a very bad person. He is depressive, very angry, yells all the time, he likes nobody, everyone is dumb and he is the best. He doesn't want help from others. he doesn't want to be treated differentyl because he has this illness.

I somehow understand why he is like that now. he finds it very unfair. but he fights as much as he can...

and I wish you all the best and don't let it bring you down (I know its easier said than done).

i watched my aunt die from triple negative breast cancer and my grandma die from pancreatic cancer a few months ago. they waste away and lose a bunch of weight, hair falls out, dealing with side effects to treatment. its extremely scary! id be afraid. rare and aggressive cancer runs in my family so I have to be careful. I have a 90% chance of getting ovarian cancer so I hope to prevent that. good luck!

I would probably be a little upset and cry at first, but I'd bounce back quickly like I always do. You can't change the cards that life deals to you, you just have to make the best of it. Good luck at the doctors I hope it goes well.

My grandma has cancer. Its the worst illness you could have. I wish you all the best of luck.

As for me, I would spend as much time with my family and friends as I can.

I had cancer when I was 12 (I am 17 now). I went through multiple surgeries and am now cancer free :) I wish you the best and hopefully the test comes back negative! and if it does come back positive don't give up hope and keep fighting it. You will get better :)
