I am the same way in terms of dental hygiene and white teeth. There are a number of ways to whiten your teeth. Obviously you can go to a dentist and get them whitened, which is probably the most effective and not coincidentally the most expensive ($400+). You can also buy the dentist strength whitening gel along with trays and do it yourself (I do this about once or twice a year with excellent results). Lastly, you could go and buy crest white strips, etc. This is the most cost effective, but the results likely will not be as good. I haven't tried this method because I would rather use a stronger whitener once or twice a year. It also seems the strips don't really whiten your teeth that many shades.

I've heard good things about the crest whitestrips but they're kind of expensive. I'd take a look at them
I'm a dental assistant! So ill help you out... white strips do make your teeth whiter however they are actually very bad for your teeth. They dry them out and if your using them you may notice your teeth being sensitive and may hurt when you eat. And your mouth being drier than usual... the best option for your teeth is the crest whitening toothpaste but only use it a couple times a week at most. In the mean time brush regularly and stay away from dark floored drinks like pepsi, grape juice and coffee!
crest 2hr white strips I heard and have seen work really well. when I get my braces off that is what I am going to do. they can make your teeth a bit more sensitive for the first day or so I've heard but it shouldn't be too bad. if they are quite sensitive apparently there's sensodine toothpaste or whatever that helps with that ;) lol anyways in Canada (which I see you are from also) theyre usually around $55 and you can get them at many places such as shoppers drug mart, wal-mart, online, etc. :)

Just brush your teeth 2-3 times a day after meals haha. I sing the ABC's in my head twice while brushing and when I get finished singing, I'm done. After brushing, rinse and gargle with water instead of mouthwash. The alcohol in the mouthwash dries out your mouth and makes your breath bad!
I work in as a dental hygienist and don't bother with the toothpastes and mouthwashes they are only for external stain and if you keep your teeth clean you should not really have that problem. The white strips are fine they DO NOT harm your teeth. They can cause sensitivity but all whitening products can cause that and it will go away after you finish using the product. If you follow the directions and don't wear them too long it is not a big deal they dry out your mouth it is only a few hours.
Crest white strips! They worked great for me! Just follow the directions as close as possible. Only downside is they can make your teeth sensitive, but use Sensodyne or something for sensitive teeth and you'll be good!
use white strips! best thing ever. I can recommend crest pro or whatever... it's like $50 but worth it, lasts for about 6 months and people noticed a difference when I used them.
baking soda and peroxide.. try to stay away from your gums.
There are whitening mouth washes available if you don't want to bother with white strips.
White strips or you can brush your teeth with baking soda or hydrogen peroxide.
Those whitening strips. I didn't think they really worked until I saw someone use them.
