Not everyone waits till the last minute to do their shopping. I can think of numerous reasons someone would buy from there.
They could be elderly/disabled and not able to leave the house as easily you can.
Maybe Amazon has somethings that they can't find in the store.
Amazon sells in bulk for a lot of items they might have a better deal then the store.
I have bought food there a few times. The first was when I got my first gift card here I couldn't think of anything to buy so I bought some food forget what though.
A few other times on Reddit they have a section people who are having trouble with food come. The easiest way to help is buy food off their wishlist on Amazon so I've done that a few times.

I've bought food on Amazon, I'm a prime member and there were a few items I couldn't find around where I am for the same prices. It was just much more affordable on Amazon and there are some items I have on repeat orders so I save more. I'll do it when I can't find the same item around where I am at a comparable price when you add together the cost of commute to the store and the item. There are times its just cheaper on Amazon especially since I'm a prime member anyways and there's no taxes to be paid, at least until they open up their warehouse in my state.
If I can't be bothered to go out to the shop or I can't find the item in-store, then of course! Where I live, they don't sell Almond milk locally. The only place I can buy it is at the health food store, which is a few miles away. So, why not have it delivered to my door?
lmao, I just read somewhere that amazon was selling dolphin meat, or horse meat,

I guess it would depend on what it is, like you said cereals and peanut butter than sure I would buy those if it were cheaper but for the most part I wouldn't go grocery shopping on amazon
It's just the same as anywhere
supermarkets have a place where they store their food
and so do Amazon
I wouldn't use it unless I know exactly what I'm buying
and not anything usedI found that a bit odd too when I first saw it lol :) I wouldn't buy general groceries from there as it just seems inconvenient but they do sell some American candy etc that I would purchase from there if they wern't too expensive as I'm in the UK and I like to try food from other countries that isn't always so readily available in a supermarket in the UK etc.
Id buy some... amazon themselves do not supply the goods so I don't see anything wrong witth it really
No, I rather go to the store.. Where I can open a box of cheeze-it in the car soon after buying it.
I don't like waiting 2-3 for the food to arrive or be charged more for it to arrive within' a few hours?I've bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from Amazon, but don't buy food there except for workout powder. Most of their food costs more than in-store, locally.
I would but I don't need to. I did get my friend to buy Soynut Butter by I'm Healthy. He loves it a lot.
If it's a specialty item that I can't find in stores ANYWHERE and it's something I can wait for, yeah. But as in regards to cured meats/et al absolutely not. The store is WAY closer.
They're so adept and efficient at everything else. So why not?
You can buy doesn't mean you have to eat it but maybe give as a gift
i would. what's wrong with that?
I would buy food from Amazon if I had a gift card. Why not?
