Sick and cigarette smell... Why?

I have been sick from some type of respiratory/sinus infection for several weeks.

All these weeks all I can smell is cigarettes. Even in the middle of the night. I have never smoked nor has anyone close to me.

Has anyone of you ever dealt with this issue?

You really need to go to a doctor if you haven't already. Tell them about this smell. But it could just be that your sinuses are stuffed up to the point where its hard to breathe and causing you smell a certain smell. Its hard to explain but I'm sure you know how a lot of times when you're sick/have a cold that your taste buds/smells change. I would just assume that your sense of smell changed in an unusual way. You really should mention this to your doctor though just to be safe.
