What can cause a late period?

My period is late, it hasn't come for nearly 3 months, but is not the first time this happens to me, I'm just worried, and no I'm not pregnant, what can cause a late period? is there anyway it can be fixed? Thanks in advance

Stress, anxiety, depression. I had an ex the went 6 months without a period when she went through depression. Not getting enough nutriments can also stop the body from ovulating. Basically, if the body doesn't think its healthy enough to bear a child it'll stop having periods. Some sicknesses too, so if this is accompanied by any pain to the abdomen or to the legs you might want to have your ovaries checked.

If you're that late then something may be wrong and you should probably go to your doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry, at least.

Those are good reasons, but I'm not stressed, actually in holidays and very chilled, not pregnant by any chance xD, and I'm not on any pill, so it might be my hormones are just doing whatever they feel like doing lol, and yes maybe I should go to the doctors, since this can't be normal, thanks for the answer ;)

be checked for PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. this is when women have irregular periods due to hormones and cysts. do a blood test and ultrasound and go from there. are you overweight, acne, skin tags, hard losing weight?

Stress, change in diet, pregnancy. Sometimes peoples bodies just change for no reason. Sometimes if your on a new birth control it could stop.

Though I'm not stressed, not pregnant, I havn't changed my diet and I'm not in any birth control, I'm totally clueless, thanks for the answer :)

A lot of things; poor diet, weight, stress, health issues, etc. Go to a doctor and get it checked out. This isn't something you want to diagnose and treat on your own.

No I'm not overweight at all, does that affect the period though?

Well there is something called Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome that is generally found in a lot of overweight females. It causes weight gain and is marked with irregular periods. Its nothing to mess around with as another possible side effect is insulin resistance leading to a higher chance of diabetes and the cycts can prevent women from concieving later in life. It is treatable however when dealt with by a specialist.

Don't know that's how they found out about mine. However if you are oer 18 and do not have regular periods most of the time you should go to the dr just to make sure nothing is wrong. Most of the time when something is wrong with a woman it shows up in that way as our bodies are literally governed by our homones and reproductive system.

Oh I see, well I'm 17 and yes maybe I should go, I just hate doctors xD but I know sometimes is necessary
