That is awesome that you are playing soccer with this guy.
I don't have any suggestions about the thyroid issue beyond what your doctor could recommend.
You know a little bit of muscle toning exercises can really go a long way...just to make you feel a little better about it.
You know, SOME MEN really like a little extra poundage on women...I know it goes against what women say to other women AND what TV says AND what magazines say AND what advertisements say but to me it sounds like he already accepts you.
I've known couples where the guy was athletic or thin and the woman was on the more chunky side...so just know that this guy already likes you for some reason and just try to enjoy.
I wish I was brave enough to play soccer...I've always been better at the type of sports that don't involve balls...soccer, football etc. I'm still afraid somebody is gonna nail me in the side of the head with it! Ha Ha

Don't show that you're self conscious. If he sees you enjoying yourself, working hard and showing that sport is something you love, that's a very attractive trait.

Im sure he wouldn't of invited you if he didn't like you. If your working on it then at least your doing something about it to fix your problem. Just try not to take things so hard on yourself.
