Can someone please tell me what this is? I'm trying to understand football for my future boyfriend ( wherever you are)... Jk but seriously, what is fantasy football?

It's the team you will have to love and support when you find said boyfriend. it's your hypothetical bfs way of proving he is smarter and better than his friends.

We draft our team of real players and basically how they do in real life

My girlfriend started playing this year. She's seen me into it and wanted to give it a try. It's actually really fun and makes every game worth watching

You join a league, then pick actual players to constitute your team. Then each week you get points based on what your players did in real life. The fantasy league has a schedule pitting different members of the league against each other.

So the fantasy teams have their season concurrent to the NFL season. Then the fantasy leagues have their own playoffs and championship.

It's a way to make every game interesting and make you feel like the owner of a team because you picked the players, (you can feel like that nerd in that movie Moneyball) however I don't have time for all of that. Some guys end up betting on this stuff and buying ridiculous satellite TV subscriptions to keep up with their "team".

You pick players who you think will have top notch production for the week. Makes watching games fun. Bragging rights or Money rights with the guys or gals. So hypothetically if you're my future girlfriend, you'll give me some me time on Sunday/Monday Night ;)

it is what gives me the biggest regrets in my life, when reflecting on my fantasy football decisions.

but a real thorough explanation wouldn't fit in an answer here. To summarize - it's drafting football players to be on a team and then get pts based on their weekly performances. The more pts the better chance of winning vs your opponent.
