Constant annoying urge to pee?

So i've had this constant urge to pee for about 2-3 weeks now and it's seriously ruining the quality of my life. It has completely obliterated my social life and school is really tough to get through (I'm 17 by the way )

I have no symptoms that could suggest either Blatter infection or urinary tract infection. I have no soreness, burning sensation or any of those. The only thing is, that i constantly have the urge to pee, but can't.

I've been to the doctor to get antibiotics, but they didn't work. I've taken numerous tests of my urine that were all negative, and I'm running out of possibilities. I've also tried drinking tons of water and completely emptying my blatter for two days straight, but no difference.

TL;DR: Can someone please, for the love of god, give me a magic trick of sorts, to stop the urge? Thanks in advance...

A constant urge to urinate could be a symptom of stress. Not necessarily psychological stress but stress in the biological sense (i. e. high levels of adrenaline and cortisol). Perhaps if you quell the stress reaction the symptoms will subside.

The method I had the most success with I got from a book called Eat For Heat. Basically it entails cutting down on your liquid intake and increased intake of salt and carbohydrates. By modulating the ratio of sodium to water you take in you can raise your body temperature and lower stress hormones. The idea is that excess water consumption dilutes the extracellular fluid leading to a low-grade form of hyponatremia which can cause a number of symptoms. Not to mention it also fills your bladder and makes you need to pee.

Mhm, seems like an interesting read, but the contents of the book hasn't been processed or/and proven to be right.

I'm not normally drinking an excess of water. I usually drink about 5-7 glasses of water aday which is in the norm. My family is going through a lot of shit right now, but everything else is going great (ofcourse apart from the urge to pee), so i don't know if it's psychological stress. There is probably no way to tests it.

One thing is for sure, i don't have time to wait 2 weeks for shipping a book to Scandinavia and reading one important point about the urge to pee.. But I thank you for your opinion on the topic!

So this thing is totally ruining your life but you can`t even be bothered to try it? Going to the doctor and taking pills that don`t work is alright but you`re not willing to drink less water and eat some salt? What have you got to lose except the urge to pee? Just cut down on the water and when you get an urge to pee follow it up by eating some pretzels or something salty and carby.

And by the way just because 5-7 glasses of water a day is the norm doesn`t mean it`s not a lot. The idea that you should drink eight 8 oz glasses of water a day is ridiculous. Try 2 to 4 and see how it goes. What do you have to lose? You`re not going to die of dehydration.

Okay, Sa230e, stop coming out all offensive okay. I'm a very active person and i NEED at least 5-7 glasses of water a day to function. I run a lot and i go the gym a lot too. Secondly, there is nothing wrong with my intake of sodium. As we speak I'm eating a trailmix, with salt and i usually put salt on my food, for better taste. Also, I'm not sure i want to spend those money on a book full of methods that haven't even been confirmed. Yes, I know you might find it stupid, when I'm so desperate for a cure.

I had false alarms around your age and saw a urologist and found out I had prostate inflammation. He gave me some meds and told me to cut down on my caffeine intake. I was having those energy drinks and it was ridiculous after a while.

Mhmm, I don't drink any caffeine at all :) - It doesn't matter anymore, it went away itself yesterday.. 2 horror weeks are over.. Thanks for your story :)

I had this problem for years. There was nothing physically wrong, but it was all mental. I had horrible anxiety for years about this cause I ended up thinking I was going to pee myself. It took a long time for me to get over it, but I just tried to stick it out for as long as possible.

Well... It has gotten better, but it's still there. It leads me to belive that the problem is gone, but my psychological state of: "Oh no, i might pee myself" might have taken over.. :(

I still think that too sometimes. What always made me feel better was going to the bathroom every so many hours so I knew it was impossible to pee myself. That helped me a lot.

Seems like it's gone now for good. Can't feel a thing anymore. I still have no idea what caused it. :)
