It’s so bad that sometimes I pee in my pants and can’t hold it in that long and it’s every hour that this happens like it feels like an emergency that I need to go. What causes this?
It's called OAB over active bladder. You should really get it checked out. There is a cool girl on here that can tell you all about it. I believe or she can help you through it. I think look for a girl by the name of random. She's wearing has blonde hair. I think that person can help you quite a bit

3 moAsk your doctor. Nobody on here knows. It's not possible for anyone on here to know. They might list legitimate things that MIGHT be the cause, nut that doesn't mean they ARE the cause. Only a proper examination and tests can determine the cause.

3 molike an emergency that I need to go. What causes this?
That sounds incredibly stressful and exhausting. What you’re describing—a sudden, intense "emergency" urge to go followed by leakage—is often called
urge incontinence, which is frequently a symptom of overactive bladder (OAB). Temple Health +1
When this happens as often as every hour, it's typically because the bladder muscles are contracting involuntarily, even when your bladder isn't actually full. MedlinePlus (. gov) +1
Common Causes
There are several reasons your bladder might be acting this way:
Bladder Irritants: Caffeine (coffee, tea, soda), alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and spicy or acidic foods can irritate the bladder lining, triggering these "emergencies".
Infections: A urinary tract infection (UTI) often causes sudden, frequent urges and pain.
Nerve Communication Issues: Conditions like diabetes, multiple sclerosis, or a stroke can disrupt the signals between your brain and bladder.
Muscle Weakness or Pressure: Pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, or being overweight can weaken the pelvic floor muscles that hold urine in.
Obstructions: In men, an enlarged prostate can prevent the bladder from emptying fully, leading to frequent "overflow" urges. National Institute on Aging.
Immediate Next Steps
See a Professional: Since this is affecting your life every hour, it's important to talk to a doctor. You can start with a primary care provider or a specialist like a urologist or urogynecologist.
Keep a "Bladder Diary": For 2–3 days, write down what you drink, when you go, and when accidents happen. This helps a doctor pinpoint the cause.
Manage Irritants: Try cutting back on caffeine and alcohol to see if the frequency decreases.
Protection: Using absorbent pads or underwear can help reduce the stress of accidents while you seek treatment. National Institute on Aging (. gov) +6

3 moIt sounds like urge incontinence to me, but the cause could be different things, I'd see a Dr, who might refer you to a Urologist, it would be useful to hold as long as you can, then pee into a container and measure the volume, record the result,,,
Might be be good to try diapers as a kind of insurance against needing to find a loo quickly, I wear 24/7 and they at least reduce anxiety,,,
I get "latchkey" incontinence also, if I'm very near home or can't find my key I often have to go right away, sometimes I can't stop it,,,,
00 ReplyI think one symptom of diabetes is peeing a lot. Walkin 20 - 30 min. a dy. at a normal pace can decrease your chances of diabetes. You can even walk 16, 17 paces in a home n turn around.
1ce someone couldn't hold their pee in. They went 2c a physician. They had a weak bladder and the physician said it happens with age. But they were around 50.
The physician prescribed them a pill. It didn't work as well so they were prescribed another pill and it workd. Talk 2 a physician about both.
Ask a physician how long a dy. n how many times a week u should do exercises that r good 4 your heart like an exercise bike or swimming.
Unfortunately if u hav diabetes u can't get rid of it.00 ReplyIt’s called urgency and had a number of causes. See your GP first, just to rule out a UTI. If it’s caused by diet or an overactive bladder, you can train yourself by trying to wait longer each time you need to wee. Working on your pelvic floor can help too, but get guidance, as you can easily overwork it and cause more urinary symptoms.

3 moMake an appointment with a UROLOGIST to find out why your plumbing isn't functioning correctly. I've never heard of anyone needing to pee every hour and I'm pushing 70.
You may have some kind of infection. You may have something broken or both. Only testing and a doctor can tell you what's going on. HURRY UP!.00 Reply
3 moThis happens to me as well since I have stress/urge incontinence to a degree. All I can do is pelvic exercises which help a little. Diet can also help. An overactive bladder can also be caused by diabetes or a UTI, which I've also had plenty of.
But first I would suggest getting checked by your doctor especially if this a new condition for you. And sorry. I know it can suck. 😳

3 moHigh blood suger increases peeing, in this case you should do a blood test and watch your suger consumption during the day
Urethra inflammations cause emergency peeing that sometimes you can't hold it, you should do urine test
In both cases you should see a doctor and do some tests 👍🏻00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)3 moOveractive bladder. This is the most common culprit. It's marked by the need to urinate more than eight times during the day, waking up more than once a night to pee and frequently losing bladder control before reaching the toilet.
Consulting a doctor would be better.

3 moI find it interesting that girls at your young ages have this problem. It is usually older women, especially past menopause, that are afflicted with this. Does the urge to pee happen when you run water in the sink too?

Asker3 moNo the urge doesn’t happen when I run water in the sink. It’s only when I need to go to the bathroom it feels like an emergency. What causes this?

3 moMaybe diabetes? This is worth seeing a doctor also drinking more than 2 cups of coffee can cause this , similarly drinking more than 2 cups of cola together, while waiting for the appointment See if you avoid cola and coffee what happens.
00 Reply We are not doctors, can't you go to a doctor? That would be best. To hear advice from a forum is absolutely not safe!

in my experience, it's the large colon not working right. probably food allergies culpret.
00 Reply 608 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. probably urinary incontinence. See a doctor. Kegels may help for a time, at least until you can see a urologist (not sure if that's just for guys or for both) or whomever else is a specialist for female urination.
