I often wonder when you see those alligator infested swamps how anything else there manages to survive long enough to actually breed. Surely they must clear an area of prey items pretty quick.

No thanks. Living in Florida, alligators are easy enough to come by. So if I want to pet one, I can just go out and find one in the wild and not have to worry about taking it to the vet and all the responsibilities of pet ownership.

there's already sharks in my bath tub... not sure I can keep a gator too...
I've had my moments. Right now it sounds better than dealing with what I'm putting up with. So sure.

One of my favourite boyhood cartoons was "Wally Gator," featuring a " talking" alligator.
These are the only pet alligators I would want.
I had a caiman as a kid. Bad as pets. No character. You can even make friends with an Iguana or a Tegu.
Nah, I suspect their ears aren't near as soft as my labs. Alligator skin and all that.
Though they probably don't shed.
