How would you react to someone telling you they really liked your perfume? Is it in bad taste?

Today I was waiting for an appointment. I was listening to music so I did not hear the woman behind me come in. As I'm listening, I suddenly get this scent, this sweet, flowery scent. It smelled so good, you know that "omg that smells good moments". I turned around to be met with this beautiful woman. She was just stunning, so taken aback by her perfume and her attractiveness. I said nothing.

I'm just curious if complimenting a stranger in something like perfume is inappropriate. How would you feel?

Tell a woman you like her perfume

Tell a woman she smells good

Say nothing and just enjoy the scent.

In a case like that where you turned to see who was behind you, I think it would be perfectly fine to say "Oh, hi. I noticed your perfume. It smells really nice."
I don't see why anyone would be offended by a non-sexual comment like that. They might be quite pleased by the compliment.

Depends on where you are. As a man, you need to be aware that no woman will automatically trust that what you say is platonic just based on experience. You can try complimenting her, but be aware that it can go bad and she might become paranoid of you, a stranger, as a result.
