Are guys attracted to girls who have more traditionally masculine hobbies?

Genuine question because I’m about to be 20 and I’ve never had a boyfriend. I’m the only girl in my family and I was raised around a lot of boys. I like to work on my truck, I like heavy rock music, I like graphic T shirts and I like to collect small trucks. I still wear makeup and jewelry and all, and I believe I behave feminine in public settings. But only a few guys in my life have ever shown interest in me. I’m wondering because I get a lot of disapproval from family about my likes. Anyone willing to answer honestly?

Certain men definitely will be, and many won't be. Stereotypically, the men who will find you attractive are likely to be blue-collar men - which is NOT to say that they're poor or anything; some guy who owns a plumbing or electrical company or HVAC or trucking company and has a dozen employees and makes $200,000+ would still be blue collar. But, yes, you're most likely to attract blue-collar guys who work with their hands, and they're more likely to live in a more rural setting rather than an urban one.

Why? Because the kind of guy who has a degree and a white-collar job in a cubical in a major city is likely to believe that he's "educated" and "more academic" and would have nothing in common with you - and that you'd have nothing in common with his circle of friends - and so most guys like that would probably overlook you.

A more blue-collar guy is much more likely to be grounded and will appreciate a woman who is feminine and sweet but isn't afraid to get her hands dirty or pick up a tool once in a while. You'll have shared values with men like that, and that's a big deal.

There’s nothing wrong or weird about a lady having a few masculine interests or qualities to her, I like to have some things in common while having a woman with a feminine side.

Enjoy what you enjoy and a man will accept you for who you are, including your hobbies regardless of masculinity or femininity founded in them.
Sorry your family disapproves, but hey it’s your family. Doesn’t mean guys looking to date you, get to know you, etc. will behave that way.

Sometimes you get labeled as "one of the guys" if you're too much like them. I think most of them can get over that if they're into you though. But I got told once that it wasn't very feminine of me to like baseball and he wouldn't want me as a girlfriend because I'd talk sports with him and only guys should talk about it with each other. I was married at the time, so whatever lol

Honestly? One of my girly girlfriends is happily married. The tomboy friend had a feminine guy who was madly in love with her, chasing her for years. I am halfway between girly and tomboy, and I had a man who was crazy about me recently.

Women’s hobbies don’t much matter. In fact, your interests might be more attractive because they are less likely to cost a dude a bunch of money.
You may need to work on your approachability or adjust your standards.
There are a lot of criticisms about the loss of masculinity in young men. So your interests might leave guys at a loss for common interests for conversation. Especially if it’s important to you to share your interests. There are a few apps and websites like “Meetup” that center groups around common interests. You could always look into those.

Honestly.

a. Your hobbies and interests are something that round you out. They don't carry a high weight in most people's assessments of potential partners.

b. Different men have different preferences. If I were to pick a random number with no basis whatsoever I would guess your hobbies would be a negative for less than a quarter of guys.

c. Most guys admire passion. The specific target of that passion is less important.

Your hopes, your dreams, your goals, your work ethic, the things to do to make the world a better place, the things you do for your partner, your openness to deep conversations, your ability to sit with discomfort, how you embrace fun, how open-minded you are to others' views... I can go on forever. All of these things matter more than your choice of hobbies.

Relax. Be yourself. Enjoy life.

And separate your own identity and sense of self-worth from your family.

I know people who got their first relationship far into their 20's. Dont worry about it to much your time will come.

Personally I was 21 when I got my first relationship and lost my virginity at 22.

Back then I was scared that it would never happen for me and that I would die virgin but I was totally wrong.

I always had a low selfworth and I felled unattractive. But that wasn't reality it was all in own mind. Nowerdays I feel very confident about myself and I know im not unattractive at all.

I'm kinda embarrassed to admit this but I always love an autistic lady who likes similar hobbies to us men. It shows she's still good at rationalising (associated with masculinity but still important) especially if it doesn't contradict her feminity like the whole Hollywood girlboss trope does.

Kinda like how women like masculine but they also like their men to be slightly emotional & passionate too (associated with femininity).

It's probably cause both my mum is and my dad was autistic so I must have a instinct to make sure my mega autism+ is passed onto a future generation.

As long as you don't have tattoos, nose piercings, short unnaturally colored hair, are not supportive of the alphabet people, don't do drugs, smoke, or drink alcohol, aren't obese, aren't promiscuous, and are fair in a relationship, good men should be interested in you. I think it's cool if you like heavy rock music. Do you like Metallica, MegDeth, Pantera, Manowar, and stuff like that? How about video games? that is the coolest interest/hobby.

Well, you said you don't really flirt but share your interests instead, so there's a chance your conditioned behaviours are attracting buddies? And there's a chance some guys might have flirted with you before, but if you responded with sharing hobbies, they might have assumed you were looking for friendship?

I can't speak for other guys for me I do enjoy a girl that loves to get dirty and do stuff like that boy's stuff but then at the same time she can go and take a shower and be a girly girl that is one of the most beautiful things in the world to me

So I guess it depends on what you like doing and who you are and what you're all about because that's who you need to be you need to be yourself that's what guys like or at least I do

Definitely I like girls that think and are interested in something besides reading those stupid romance novels and doing nothing. As long as the girl isn't crawling around in bars or on dope which happens with women like that sometimes. Or even worse into other girls.
