You know the one, you chase people, and if you slap one, it's their turn to be the chaser. It's got multiple names in the UK, but I always knew it as tag.
A friendly game was called “tag”, but a slightly more malicious version was referred to as “cooties”. If someone said you had the cooties, you had to touch someone else to transmit the cooties away from yourself and to them. If only STDs and STIs actually worked like that. Terrible life training, “cooties”, but it was effective at getting kids involved who simply didn’t care if they were “it”. Ell oh ell!
Indeed, I remember that game you call "tag", which sounds somewhat similar to how it was called in the local language (West-Vlaams) at our school: "takske niete". A very popular game at the time.
I didn’t see this question until now. It’s called Tag, I had a real good time playing this game with my brother. It was really fun and interesting. This is something that you can play with your kids. And I would do it if I had kids. And if you mind your manners maybe I’ll do it with you if you ever come here
It was 'chasey' when I was a kid, not to be confused with 'kiss-chasey'. For some reasons it's no longer socially acceptable for me to do either of them. I always thought tag was an American term.
