We see on all social media platforms with GaG even, of questions asked about our new year's resolution. I even asked a question about it on here. Apparently by February, 80% of people already fail their set resolution. In saying this, I'm not saying I have something against goals and all that, I'm just against why we should have one on New Year's.

Why I Don't Have A New Year's Resolution

I've reach that time where I just don't bother setting a resolution up for new year's. As each year goes by, why do I only choose this time to set a goal that I want to achieve. Why is it only this time of the year I say this time ' I'll eat healthy this year..' even tho I said that last year? It's like the thought of the new year's resolution stresses you out that you work against it and it's like we make up the same resolution for new year's one after another.

Setting myself up for failure

According to a study, the built of our brains shows that we pay more attention to things that are rewarding or pleasing in the past. That explains why you maybe craving junk food when you're on a diet. So if you think about it, our own brains are wired to work against us... so why set yourself up for failure going into a new year?

Why I Don't Have A New Year's Resolution

Setting and achieving goals shouldn't be a once a year thing

How come it just takes a new year for us to create a resolution. We've had 12 months each year to create smaller, realistic goals that we won't forget in one month. Even so, these smaller goals could even be achieved when your new year starts.. wouldn't that be better then starting a goal on the new year?

Why I Don't Have A New Year's Resolution

There is only one New Year, but each and every day is born with a new opportunity. If yesterday’s attitude didn’t work for us, we can change it today. If last night was the hardest night of our life, the next can hold the most beautiful moon. When we seal a resolution in our heads as static markers for an entire year, we give ourselves the message of “just one chance.” This life is full of a million and more chances.
