Guys, Should I text my hookup/FWB Merry Christmas?

We were friends for a year and we just started hooking up and I've met his friends and he actually genuinely likes & respects me and has always helped me and been there for me but he's in his 30s and doesn't make a lot of money and is currently living on his friends couch while in between finding an apartment. We agreed to see each other casually and I don't want to treat him like a boyfriend but I'm away with my family for Christmas and I want to wish him a merry Christmas but I'm not sure if that's too "relationshippy" or if a guy even though we are friends would see that as something more than casual. I know it's a stupid question but I just don't want to convey the wrong message.
