Sometimes my boyfriend hurts me deeply. What do tou think?

My boyfriend always tells me (through text) how much he loves me and how I’m important to him, but I don’t always *feel* that. We live 400km apart and we went a month without seeing each other until I traveled and met him. He acted like he had just seen me and didn’t seem excited to finally see me. Sometimes he says he’s used to act in a cold way but doesn’t want to be like that to me. We talked about it a week later and he started to act in a warmer way and that lasted 2 days after we saw each other again. But then he went back to making me confused by not making an effort to come and see me before Christmas (he was staying with his family 25km away), even though I made time for him when I was having family issues and promised to drive him back to his family late at night. Sometimes I think he doesn’t even notice what he does, but he’s hurting me. We’ve only been together for 4 months!

I would like to say a few things here maybe you wouldn't like it as people in the comment section are supporting you !!

1) He will never know it's hurting you bc he just didn't meet you.

2) it's a small thing for him.

3) he was with his family and wanted to dedicate the time for them as he isn't meeting you he would have not met with his family long time.

4) it depends how much time he had with him that he couldn't méet you.

Classic introvert stuff he won't initiate untill you do it's just his personality not that he doesn't want to do something for you
But he won't make you feel special at least for now it's not his personlity as what I could analyse from your data.

7) He didn't feel excited , oh no he just can't express it in a way you think he should have expressed he is kinda homeostatis where everything for him is neutral.

8) With these kinda of people you can expect care only once you become really close and tbh it would take more effort from you initially but once you established the trust then you will see some changes and know that it will be genuine they won't have any agenda behind it.

9) it's on you what kinda of person you want to be with and i don't think he is bad or taking you for granted it's just how he is.

10) develop a deeper bonding and check with his friends and family how his behaviour with them I am sure they will say the same thing they feel the way you are feeling but they understand him better.

11) has he displayed any kinda abuse or voilence or any verbal abuse?

This is evident to me that he just doesn't appreciate you, take your relationship seriously or care about you as much as he thinks he does. I would say that after this going on for four months, it is time for you to "Pack your bags" and lock the door from the outside behind you. This guy is clearly not for you, and if you attempted to continue things with him, he will eventually begin taking advantage of you in any way he can. So I would say it is time to call things quits and move on with life!

He just takes you for granted. He does not seem to want to make any effort whatsoever to see you, even if the distance is so much shorter than the one you travelled to see him.

To me, that is indicative that he does not really care for you but sees you just as a convenient "thing" to have.

You have to set the record straight once and for all. I suggest you write down everything that disturbs you about him and his attitude. Next to each item, you bring in a solution that would remedy these issues that are both satisfactory to you and to him.

If he fails to recognize that there are communication problems, your only alternative is to sever this relation because it is more toxic than anything else. Good luck.

I had already celebrated (first time) earlier as my significant other returned home to be with his family.

Sadly, I could not go with as quarantine restrictions in his home country are strict for non-citizens.
