White lie about not spending New Year alone?

New Year is coming and everyone is talking about where they will be celebrating etc. I'm single, and I can't spend the New Years' Eve with my friends. I will be probably staying at home and watching movies but the problem are my co-workers. They are intrusive and I am thinking: should I just tell them a white lie that I went to a party with other friends or something? I know its radicilous but I have no energy to deal with their questions why was I at home.
