My niece attended Christmas party and acted very rude at church?

We attended a Christmas party today and my 12y. o niece got a gift from elderly woman who is giving gifts to everyone including kids. When she opened the gift she got a doll and she said she doesn't like it. Well I thought thats rude when we got home I scolded her behaviour.. she never apologizes to the old lady tho. I kinda understand why she acted like that cuz she grew up in a rich neighborhood and very spoiled by my sister... but still I feel bad for older lady

In my family there would have been a planned sit down with sister informed. Mom, Auntie, and child review both thinking and feeling. Scolding sounds required... if I did that !!
