Anyone else depressed on Christmas?

I was laid off four months ago and have been job searching since then. I'm not sad about getting laid off but I am sad that it is taking me so long to find another job. Half of my laid off friends already have a new job but I'm still looking. Recently my lab partner (I work in biology research) got hired at a company that I applied to three times! It makes me think "well what's wrong with me?".

Since it's happening on Christmas time I feel even more depressed from it. I'm 32 and single and unemployed. Just in a relative low at my life at this point. I know it's not forever but just temporary depression.

Anyone else feeling depressed for some reason?

I'm bothered by certain things as well.

Yeah, I got covid a couple days ago. I was supposed to work all through the weekend and we're having a big party at work on Christmas Day. My brother is the only family I have left and thought he and I would be at the work party, but he just got covid so we will be spending a covid Christmas together haha. I'm going to lay in bed and smoke cigarettes

Four Months! That's awful. Honestly getting a job these days is freaking hard! I'm glad you realize that's its only temporary.

My holidays suck too. It's more so that i hate my family, and the weather. I can never get comfy T_T

Haha thanks. This post was two years ago but oddly enough, I'm running into winter time blues again. Seems that it's a winter habit for me. I also hate the weather this time of year.
