At Denny’s November 23, 2023 for Thanksgiving. It’s Like eating dog food turkey and scraps and sitting in a empty restaurant All by myself 😫

Oh that's so sad :(
I often invite people that don't have family over for meals on holidays. It's just the right thing to do.
Thanks. It's just a small thing I can do for someone and I think it means a lot to them. I've been alone on holidays before, overseas, and it's depressing. Many people here wouldn't think I'm nice though haha, I speak up against injustice and they don't like that.
this past Thanksgiving... it was the worst lol
no. That would have been an improvement lol
basically... don't want to put her on blast but it was relatives first attempt and it was pretty sad. Thankfully I had another stop after and it was awesome
lol nice!
100% I think that was the last holiday there. Pretty sure everyone agrees lol

My sister is not a good cook. Many years ago, I had Christmas at their house... my sister, her husband and their 3 young kids. The ham was overcooked, the potatoes were almost raw, and the cheesecake dessert had a very unusual taste. The company was good and we all had a good time, but the food was... shall we say... less than ideal.
For Thanksgiving this year, my mom decided she did not want the traditional meal, so we had steak, baked potato, etc. It wasn’t lousy; it just wasn’t a holiday meal.
no such thing as lousy meals when you do Mexican Christmas and Holidays... lol
My second year at college my mother decided she did not want to cook a Thanksgiving dinner and we went to a restaurant. It was dreadful. I think I ate a bag of potato chips when I got home.
Can’t really remember such. Georgian meals are very delicious.
I don't think I've ever had one.
None that I can recall.
It's having leftovers of everything except the turkey for the next week that really gets to me, though.
Never had a bad one before
Thanksgiving, 3 years ago. It was just my aunt & I. I got a free turkey from the food bank and she put it in the oven around 11:00 a. m.. By the time we were ready to eat, around 5 or 6 p. m., she pulled the turkey out and it was still mostly raw!! So, she put it back in for another 2 hours, that didn't help, much! 2 hours, later, she checked it again and was still not done!! After another hour or two, she just gave up on it and took it out to eat it. She was able to cut it but it was very hard to do and was pretty tough to eat. But, we were hungry! She shut off the oven but it kept going! We couldn't shut it off no matter what we did so, it just kept going for the next 3 days, or better. I even pulled it away from the wall and shut off the gas! The burners no longer worked but the oven was still cooking!! Finally, some firemen came in and tried to shut it off. They turned off the gas and this time, it DID kill the oven! I've been without a kitchen stove ever since.
Little did we know, this was to be her last Thanksgiving! 6 weeks later, she died!
@fuddly I know! And it keeps getting worse! And that's not even the start of it! It goes a few years before that. 2 weeks before she died, she mortgaged the house and the car to give more money to her scammer buddies who'd already taken her for over $11,000,000! She decided that she was gonna leave this house to me. At least two of my cousins said they were okay with this.
In order to keep the house and car, I had to pay back the mortgage to the bank so, I went to the bank to ask when I could start doing that and was told that they don't want MY money, they want my aunt's money! So, they started tacking on late fees and interest!! 2 months ago, the sheriff posted the house up for sheriff's sale by Dec. 4th. Those two cousins suddenly teamed up with another of their siblings who claims that this is HIS house and NOT mine! In the meantime, he already "bought" my aunt's old house from her 20 years ago but, so far, has only made one small payment so, he, basically, STOLE that house from her!! NOW, he wants THIS ONE, TOO?
So, my lawyers put a stay on the sheriff's sale, possibly for 3 months, and now, we have to deal with these cousins about what to do with this house!
Mine died 2 days before Christmas 1999. She was so looking forward to seeing in the new century a week later. She'd just turned 89 about 3 weeks before Thanksgiving.
Swedish tradition as Christmas food is! Meatballs and mini sausages, raw spiced salmon and Brussels sprouts and smoked ham which all can be bought in the market ready to serve and eat and i consider it (LOUSY).
Omg EVERY time we went over my ex's for Christmas celebration. The meal was disgusting. Nothing was ever seasoned they had terrible taste buds. Worst the turkey was either overcooked or undercooked.
Anytime Mom cooked-period. When we got store bought stuff, it was awesome. When the store can cook better than mom, you know something is amiss. We desperately wanted to go to relatives houses for the better meals! There I said it!
My daughter had a child on Thanksgiving day, yes how inconvenient, so we ended up at Denny's after the food rush. Everyone there just wanted to go home and there wasn't much left of menu. Our son was very disappointed.
The first year my Ex-wife spent Christmas with me. We went to my sisters for dinner. My sister started a fight. We left.
My sister has only gotten worse since then, we are no longer talking.
I was off to college far from home one Thanksgiving and had a can or spaghettios with some foreign exchange students.
Honestly can’t remember

Wow, @Carolinacowboy Maybe They Cooked Too at Our Golden Coral? lolxx
Paris I would have rather eaten at the golden Coral, food would have been much better
I don't remember if it was last Christmas or the Christmas before, bur we all got food poisoning. My mom thinks it was the mushrooms
Once my uncle requested to make the traditional codfish dinner for Christmas... He made the dish, but used tuna instead of norwegian codfish. Christmas was ruined
Some have been better than others. But I can’t say I remember a lousy holiday dinner.
Thanksgiving of last year. I wasn’t in the mood. Everyone else had an okay meal, I believe.
