Work Christmas Party Solo?

If you're a very attractive single woman, should you go to a work Christmas party without a date? All the other co-workers are bringing wives/ husbands and I don't want to make anyone feel awkward. Any ideas? I am new to the job (only one-month) so I am feeling especially vulnerable.

For real tho, you should totally still go. It's a work party, important for networking and bonding with coworkers too. Plus free food and drinks, sign me up!

If you feel shy, stick with other solos at first to avoid any weird questions. But own that confidence - pretty soon everyone will be so trashed nobody will remember or care you came alone.

single or married, i wouldn't go to a Christmas party for work outside of work hours at all. you need to make up a good excuse, since you are new. you can't just not show up. so either get sick or fake sick.

i'm not saying it's too risky. i'm saying since you're so new, you are expected to go or it looks bad. but if you're "sick", then it's a good excuse not to go
