every colour is beautiful white/brown/black it doesn't matter. everybody is beautiful in their own way. and sometimes its hard to believe that. And most darkskins are jealous of the lightskins and then they bleach themselves to have the same colour but i think that is the dumbest thing you can do. Love yourself for who you are it doesn't matter how white or black you are. and if people don't like you for your color thats their problem. only if you know your beautifull :)
Freckles are so cute though... My friend's 10 year old sister goes through this. She's white, but more Italian than any of them, so she has dark olive skin unlike her family. She got really depressed about it, but after I started coming around she let some of those feelings go. I guess she felt that she couldn't be that dark by comparison lol
Freckles are cute, but I come across a lot of people who don't like their freckles. I'd make a mytake about it, but I'd need to ask a few people with freckles about their experiences first, and unfortunately I don't know a lot of people with freckles. Only acne scars and dark spots.
Why are the white men coming on here saying they have dated dark skinned women? So it's ok because white men will date dark skinned women. Why do white men on this website have a superiority complex where if they find a dark skinned women attractive that suddenly makes everything ok because they think a white mAn liking dark skinned women should make dark skinned women feel validated. No I'm not dark skinned I'm far from it in actually the same color as Mariah Carey. I just feel like dark skinned women don't need white men to validate their attractiveness and all I see is sexual comments from white men. Ok so just because you fucked a dark skinned chick does not mean a dark skinned woman should feel validated. Sex is sex
It's just the global hangover from the colonial times... It'll pass. I live in India. The cosmetic companies have been selling skin lightening products to women for ages. It seems as if every chick in the world wants to look European.
I guess. The grass is always greener on the other side... Personally. I think Hispanic and Middle Eastern looking people are the most beautiful in the world. But that's just my opinion.
lol i dont have skin color issues but i remember one time in 10th grade i had beef with another girl and one guy made a comment saying i was jealous of her because she's light skinned. he was soo stupid for that comment, like im gonna be mad and hate someone JUST because they're yellow. nope, not their personality or the way they treat people - it just has to be because she's lighter than me.

So sick of this shit. There's too many dark skinned women that are (well I'll say the ones that wanted to be accepted by non dark men so badly) so focused on those that don't like their skin color. Fuck them. What about the guys who have dark skin gf's and wives? I have plenty of dark skin women in my family and they don't give a fuck about what these fools out here have to say about them, they have self esteem and they are confident.
That might be what they portray themselves to be like on the outside, but you never know how they feel on the inside. Some might be genuinely confident, some might be insecure, and some might be in limbo.
Maybe its the majority of the new age dark skin women feeling like this because the women in my family are older and they grew up in the 90's early 2000's when there was a lot of black pride and self dignity.
Well most of them are married or have a boyfriend. I'm just saying this because a lot of but not all dark skinned women especially black women want to be accepted and embraced by every guy of every race and everyone and the world isn't like that and that's their loss. Focus on those that DO accept you. There's a lot of people that think that all black men are thugs , womanizers, losers, etc, but I don't let it get me down because only a idiot would think that was the absolute truth.
I'm older than you, so trust me I know. Yes back when I was your age, there was some self hating black people and always have been, but there was also a whole lot of black people who had pride, self dignity , older black people and younger black people had and still have it , but the black youth (I mean the ones born in the 90's and beyond) have absolutely no self pride these days.
O. o I actually love my dark skin. I use to have issues with it because unfortunately favoritism for lighter skinned people in my family was rampant, but I'm over that now. I just want to help others who are going through it with a self-esteem boost.
Nice take. I know it was meant for people with dark skin, and I know one white guys opinion does not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I truly believe you don't judge a person by the color of their skin.
Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. It would be a very boring world if all the people on it were the same skin color. I may not find all dark skinned women attractive, but in the same breath, I don't find all white or light skinned women to be attractive. All I know is, I would never let the color of a women's skin be the determining factor in how great she is.
Interesting article, but amazingly not my experience. I'm mahogany hued and embraced my skin tone throughout all my years. I had been adopted by caucasians and so my only qualms was having a rounded nose and not having as easily managed hair. I however never felt my skin, eyes, smile or body got in my way. Ironically, the guys who were into me happened to recurrently by caucasian, Asian or arabs. Men of darker hues tended to see me from extremes - either I was super attractive but too white or unattractive due to my skintone. Funnily, I was not attracted to them so I never felt at loss. I then got married to someone Polish and the rest is history.

Personally I like both dark and light skin tones. Fair skin can look so delicate and gentle while dark skin can look so glowing, healthy and sensual. It's all attractive and beautiful <3
Because I was immature little, alcoholic, redneck twerp and didn't know better. Especially a girl from Nigeria. She was so beautiful and I got her pregnant. We were in college and she came from a wealthy family. She miscarried and for whatever reason, our relationship was never the same or as good. God I miss her !
There are Beautiful Wht girls, lite skined girls and Dark Skinned Girls, , no pref here, BUT, there is Something Bout Really Dark Skinned Girls that turn me on, and I am White by the way
You can tell the women that all you want, but it won't make me or other men view dark skinned women as more attractive. I can't help what I'm physically attracted to and light skinned women are the only ones I'm attracted to.
Oh no what are we gonna do without you? Lol! One less jerk to like. Pretty sure she was addressing and uplifting other WOMEN so... Yeaaaa... And don't speak for other men or in your case boys.
Nobody is forcing you to be attractive to dark skinned girls. That is where you got wrong. The message is to empower and encourage dark skinned women because for too long they were seen as the bottom of the barrow in the dating world/society. It pisses me off when people like you always has to make a brash comment as though someone is trying to shove something down your throat. Nobody even told you to click this.
@justmypov the truth hurts doesn't it? I'm just voicing my opinion because this is called the OPINION section. I wasn't being a jerk or anything like that. But I can clearly see I hit the nail on the head with all the dislikes. You know damn well you're not gonna change any man's opinion on dark skinned women.
@drkrose99 "If I don't have anything nice to say". Yet you call me a moron. I never said anything insulting I simply stated the truth, don't like it then cry in the gutter.
@Queen_naki5 I never said I was forced. A lot of women got butt hurt by my comment, even though there were no insults in it. It was simple logic about how this won't make men view dark skinned women as more attractive. If you don't want to hear opposing opinions then don't read the section titled "opinions".
The point of this wasn't to make you view dark skinned women as physically attractive. It was to uplift dark skinned women and make them feel better about themselves. No one ever asked you to be. So this comment was just idiotic and unnecessary. I gave this a downvote because of that, not because you don't like dark skinned women, because I really don't give a crap what your preferences are.
@ fried chicken... Thank you!!! I could have sworn she was talking just to the ladies and not trying to sell us to the guys. Lol he needs to take logic class. No logic in his response.
What truth? That I'm gonna die because you don't like dark skinned women and all men share your pov? Yes it pains me to my core... I'm dying a slow death. Can't you tell? ;)
You know damn well... IDG two flying f***s! Lol! I don't remember trying to change your POV... That's the funny thing about it... you continuously keep misunderstanding the topic genius.
@justmypov if that was the case she should have just picked to only ask this to girls. That's a feature for every question and take. You can choose whether guys or girls are allowed to answer.
Anyway like I keep saying: this is the opinion section. It's for people to voice their opinion on the take and this is my opinion.
@FriedChickeneisha no it was not idiotic or unnecessary. Every super sensitive person on this site seems to ignore or not see that this is titled "opinion" section. That means you share your own point of view on someone's take. No need to get so defensive or angry. I think you need to grow thicker skin or stop using this site because you're always going to find opinions that you don't like.
This is the OPINION section! Christ it's as if you don't know what the definition of opinion is.
your so called opinion was irrelevant to the topic of discussion. This take had nothing to do with getting guys to like dark skinned women. It mentions nothing of that. So it was idiotic and unnecessary. Totally off subject of the topic of discussion. "that means you share your own view on someone else's take" This wasn't about her take. You were explaining your personal preference and opinion on something that had nothing to do with it. Last time I checked your personal preference & what you think other men's preferences has nothing to do with uplifting dark skinned women. And once again, I could give two f**ks about your preference, so no, I don't need to grow thicker skin. Since you clearly couldn't understand me the first time (maybe I need to put this in all caps to get it through your simple mind), I DIDN'T DISLIKE THIS BECAUSE I DISAGREED WITH YOU, I COULD CARE LESS WHAT YOU LIKE. I DISLIKED IT BECAUSE IT WAS UNNECESSARY, OFF TOPIC AND DIDN'T ADD ANYTHING GOOD TO THE DISCUSSION
And nothing about that first comment I posted was "defensive" or "angry". Defensive and angry about what exactly? I don't care about your preferences, because I dont know you and could care less what you like. First of all, I'm not trying to impress you and second of all, I'm not dark skinned. So there would be no reason for me to be defensive and angry. I was just explaining to you what this article was truly about (since you seemed to completely miss the point) and explained why i downvoted you.
@FriedChickeneisha You keep saying you don't care about my opinion on dark skinned women, yet you keep responding and responded to my opinion. So you do care about something. My opinion isn't irrelevant because you say it is, I have a right to voice my own opinion. You are clearly hurt or offended by what I said or else you wouldn't be responding every time.
Because you are an extremely ignorant person and I think I should shed some light on this. I could say the same to you. You obviously care enough that you keep responding, too. I care about making you realize how stupid you sound. We don't need anymore ignorant people in the world. We have enough of them. Yes, you have every right to voice your opinion and no one is stopping you from doing it. Just like I have every right to voice my opinion and my opinion is that your comment is irrelevant, unnecessary and ignorant. Me responding to your opinion doesn't make me hurt or offended. It just simply means I want to respond. And you still haven't given me a reason to why i might be hurt or offended. What reason would I possibly be hurt or offended?
Its very easy to tell he got to you, it just screams butthurt about your posts, i dont agree with him, but if you really didn't care or didn't get angry, you wouldn't keep responding to him, and it seems to me he is just responding to provoke you at this point because he can tell it works.
I am dark skin and I love my color, I love myself. I have a lot of self confident, and I don't need anyone's approval. I guess because of my self esteem I can't keep a job, I Can keep a job when the majority of people you're around are white/right, I look them in the eyes when I'm speaking, that's consider rude, I am serious I'm consider being mean, and ghetto. I can't express myself because I consider having an attitude. When they acting the same way to each other. I can only say to them all is to go and fuck themselves that act and see black people this way, I am not going to lowdown myself esteem for anyone, And don't need anyone's aproval. White people are more tolerant and patient with each other.
We dark skinned girls are told that by people believe it or not. We don't have super masculine features, but a lighter skin tone has always been seen as more "feminine" for Lord knows whatever idiotic reason.
I don't get it either, but when you're as dark as I, and other women are you hear it a lot by idiots on the web, and in person. What's really hurtful is when you hear your own family say it.
Yeah, well, I get plenty of flak from others, as well, but I'm not a dark-skinned female. I get crap in different ways. Your own family says it? Like what? They're saying you're not feminine because you're dark skinned?
That exactly it, and it's not just my family. Girls with dark skin in other families experience the same things too, and it's not unique to race either.
Yeah, I've heard of some of that stuff happening in some families in certain races. Usually I hear about it from Indian families, typically, though, and I've always felt it was kind of extreme. Dark skin is gorgeous.
It's not exclusive to Indians/Middle Eastern people. Afrians, African Americans, East Asians, Southeast Asians, Hispanics, and Latinos go through this too. It's not racially exclusive.
I hear ya. I honestly don't understand why some people think dark skin isn't attractive. I guess it's just some people's taste, I suppose. I remember talking to a Filipino girl who actually gets really dark (darker than the Indian girl in the picture you posted) and she hated that she got that dark. In fact, she "warned me" that she got that dark like it was a bad thing that she had to tell me. It was kind of confusing to me because I didn't understand why she WOULDN'T want to look dark like that. She looked fantastic when she was really dark.
I can we why you wouldn't understand it because you're more than likely not dark skinned yourself so you don't experience what we do. When it's not something someone can relate to they either ignore it, or pretend it doesn't exist because they view it as something that isn't their problem, or that isn't a real problem. Meanwhile, millions of women and some men out there are bleaching their dark skin just to fit into societies beauty standards. It's why skin bleaching is a multibillion dollar industry. Many Asian and African/African American women use skin lightening products from lotions to face masks to body washes and make-up. Even some white girls import Asian beauty products for the skin lightening effect it has. I can understand using a lighting product to dark rid of dark spots and acne scars to get an even skin tone, but when you're doing it just to be lighter and join the "light skin is the right skin" hype is when it gets sick and wrong.
I love this so much, especially because I'm a dark skinned girl living in a predominately white neighborhood, and I'm not the "stereotypical" definition of beauty, and I feel bad some times but this was great, thank you! 👏😘
Yeah I agree. I'm white and I like black girls and especially indian girls. I like skinnier girls though and most black girls I see are bustier. (Not my type) I also don't like busty white girls. I don't judge by skin color but rather body type (for attractiveness)
But honestly you didn't give a good illustration of dArk women, you choose women that are fair skinned and the dark ones are tailored to a more polished look.. like nice straight hair
Dark skin varies by race. I said before that this wasn't aimed only towards dark skinned African American women. In places like Asia being tan skinned is considered dark skinned there. While in places like Africa having tan skin isn't dark, but is actually seen as fair. As I said in my myTake this is for dark skinned girls of ALL races not just one.
Take is interesting. I honestly think anyone who doesn't meet the media ideal of white with a bit of a tan can be made to feel insecure about their skin, if you're darker or paler than this supposed ideal it can be hard to feel attractive. I am white and very, very pale - I don't tan and I just burn. I have honestly been told that I shouldn't wear skirts in summer because my legs are too white. WTF?

It's not most that bleach their skin it's some. Skin bleaching is actually more popular in eastern countries than it is in western countries.
still dont get why tho be happy with your color :)

What? In America it's all about tans and wanting to look like a Hispanic or Latino
@Albinoninja66 no a lot of naturally darker skinned people in America still bleach. It's the pale white people that wanna be tan
I guess. The grass is always greener on the other side... Personally. I think Hispanic and Middle Eastern looking people are the most beautiful in the world. But that's just my opinion.

White people go through it too. See blonde/redhead vs. brunettes.
Nothing wrong with dark skinned ladies, they are very attractive.
The third and the fifth ones aren't attractive to me, but that's nothing to do with their skin.
The first one is as sexy as anything.
Women of all colours are gorgeous; it's an individual thing IMHO.
I love this so much, especially because I'm a dark skinned girl living in a predominately white neighborhood, and I'm not the "stereotypical" definition of beauty, and I feel bad some times but this was great, thank you! 👏😘
I've lived in predominantly white and black neighborhoods and still get treated a bit differently because of my medium-dark skin.
Yeah I agree. I'm white and I like black girls and especially indian girls. I like skinnier girls though and most black girls I see are bustier. (Not my type) I also don't like busty white girls. I don't judge by skin color but rather body type (for attractiveness)
Damn that first one is sexy sexy
But honestly you didn't give a good illustration of dArk women, you choose women that are fair skinned and the dark ones are tailored to a more polished look.. like nice straight hair
I kind of felt the same way. I was really into it until I saw the pictures... Then I was like... Okay...
WTF?
Omg thank you so much for saying that it's so trueee... Lol I'm a dark skinned black girl, but shout out to all my pale girls!!
