Creepier than pennywise?

Pennywise was just a single avatar of an extradimensional beast that fed on fear. IT was a seemingly invincible sanity-destroying monster, in the truest sense of the word. A creepy clown really... Entertainment & Arts

Do the cartoon characters I watch on TV have a conscious inner life of their own?

Like a mass-scale egregore, created without conscious thought on the part of the viewers? An interesting idea, but I have no idea how you'd prove it, one way or another. Entertainment & Arts

If you HAD to watch any of the movies below, which would you pick?

Well, I actually liked The Frighteners; yes, it's cheesy and kinda shlocky, but it makes no pretense about that, and is enjoyable for what it is. And the Lord of the Rings, while admittedly a... Entertainment & Arts

Why do the whites get so upset wherever they're reminded that Jimi Hendrix was, is & will always be the greatest guitarist of all time?

Because it's not true- Zarblax Hm'nee could blow him out of the water. Though having twice as many fingers and ears that can pick up resonant harmonics DOES give an unfair advantage. Entertainment & Arts

Are there any Turkish TV series or movies you watch?

Prompted by a discussion on the Crusader Kings forum, I watched the first episode of Magnificent Century (Muhteşem Yüzyıl, with fancy diacritics I don't know how to use). While having some... Entertainment & Arts

🎞 How do you react/respond to an Unhappy Ending?

Sometimes a downer ending works - for a topic example, Lord of War. Then, I'm okay with it. But sometimes... cripes. Entertainment & Arts

Did/does your family do the “elf on the shelf” thing?

No- and when I found out about it, I was deeply disappointed in the mischief potential of modern children. The idea is that Santa is ALWAYS watching- if his operatives are out in plain sight, all... Holidays

Be careful who you give your stones to right, but this is not a religious post?

I don't know if it's the BEST, but I've always gone with the Kinks' Father Christmas. When I was seven, I'd heard "Jingle Bell Rock" one too many times, and knowing even at that age how truly lame... Holidays

AVATAR 2 cost 2 BILLION to make. Do you Jimmy Cameron 20th century studios make thier money back?

That... that doesn't make sense. Why would the sequel cost MORE to produce, when we've had more than a decade to refine and develop the CGI techniques that made the first one so pricey? Okay,... Entertainment & Arts

What is the last video game you played?

At all would be the adaptation of Terraforming Mars (which is a board game); I'm working on breaking the hundred point mark with each company. In a deeper sense, I recently finished a playthrough... Entertainment & Arts

Have you ever written you and yours so name in tree 🌴?

No- it always struck me as cruel; a tree is a living thing, after all. What I MIGHT do, if I ever felt a need to declare love, is write my name in trees - plant them so that it spells our... Entertainment & Arts

What Fantasy, or Sci Fi book series should I read?

If you're looking for something character-driven, try the Vorkosigan saga. If you do, go with internal chronological order (which is almost, but not quite, the same as publishing order; any fan... Entertainment & Arts

How do you like your hot chocolate?

First off: yes, snowfall makes it taste better. The house I grew up in had a big front window directly in front of a street light, and whenever it'd snow, I'd make a cup of hot chocolate, and... Holidays

What do americans think of the British accent?

Which one? Most Americans know that there are (or at least realize that there should be) several accents in the area; we don't expect to hear "he's a bloody sod" in received pronunciation any more... Entertainment & Arts

What albums do consider to be “no-skip” (or almost no-skip) classics?

Warren Zevon's Excitable Boy- "Nighttime in the switching yard", hardly an awful song, is by far the worst on the album; and the wild energy of the title track, "Johnny strikes up the band", and... Entertainment & Arts

This is it, unfortunately. The Final Arc with the Guardians. James Gunn says GOTG V3 will be the last, what are your thoughts?

He's a naive fool. Disney has NEVER been able to let sleeping dogs lie if there might be a few dollars gained from waking them. It may be the last one HE does, but there will be more. Entertainment & Arts

Are you afraid of spiders?

I view spiders as the Earthly equivalent of angels- freaky looking, but a vital part of defense against the TRULY horrific things out there. Ever hear of bullet ants? Japanese giant hornets? Bot... Entertainment & Arts

Lyrics again? Have you ever heard a song a million times but never listen to it?

Not for me, but for most of the rest of humanity- Richard Berry's version of "Louie Louie". Unlike the singer of the Kingsmen, Berry could actually enunciate , so it's very easy to tell what the... Entertainment & Arts
