I agree. I wouldn't want to be restricted and I don't think anyone else should be if it's not harming anyone/thing.
You shoud care, because you're a human being with a soul. If you were gay, you would like people to care as well.
Because we all have rights in the same way for the same reason. The denial of one person's rights entails the denial of everyone's rights.
Disclaimer: I am not Christian. I support Gay marriage.
However, they should not be able to marry in a Christian church.

I wonder how gay marriage is going to effect the economy now since they will have to pay less in income taxes. Married filing jointly saves way more in taxes than filing single.

What a shitty comparison! As if gays were getting milkshakes poured on them in restaurants. As if gays were getting beaten and killed just because they were different in a trivial way. The civil rights movement was INCREDIBLY more significant for blacks than this gay rights shit is for gays.

Do you hear yourself? Gays have been beaten and killed... for being gay. They've had stuff thrown at them, they've been rejected from housing, places of worship, stores, etc. We in this country have an incredible homeless problem because parents are throwing gay teens out on the street for simply being gay.
Gay people have been and still are being KILLED in many countries!
In countries where intolerance will always be around maybe. By people who will ALWAYS be intolerant.
yeah hate crimes against gays have been very prevalent for a long time. it may not have gone as far as some of the violence towards blacks and that might be because gay people don't wear their differences on their skin but the have still certainly gone through the wringer of discrimination, violence, bigotry, etc
Even so, being allowed to get married would not prevent that.
Once America was deemed "intolerant" when killing all of the blacks, and no one thought America would change. Look at America now, the government and majority of people have changed their view completely. So other countries can also stop being intolerant, especially if they are less powerful countries.
Gays are disowned, abused, killed, insulted to the point of suicide, and more. Just because there isn't as significant of a population of gays than blacks (mostly because many gays hide their sexuality in fears of judgment) does NOT mean that mistreatment to gays is nonexistent. I know my friend was bullied in school because he "looked gay" even though he wasn't. He was hurt so badly. Imagine the pain someone has to go through when they actually ARE gay.
Put two and two together, saying someone isn't allowed to marry who they want because they are different is terrible and cruel.
Marriage is not a right.
But now they can marry anyway.
What else can we change to stop them from being discriminated? Everyone in the United States has equal rights in all areas.
I researched it and found under the Americans freedoms , one of them includes the right to enjoy and pursue other freedoms. Some of the freedoms listed were like traveling, raising a family, and being married. So yes, marriage is a right. Everyone does not have equal rights, because people such as yourself discriminate other people (in your case, gay people) which takes away their freedoms. There is freedom of speech, but there is a limitation that you can not take away someone else's rights and freedoms. By saying gays should not get married, you are taking their rights and freedoms away. Therefore, everyone does not have equal rights. Everyone is SUPPOSED TO, but this by far is not the case.
I don't discriminate gays, I just don't care. It's not a constitutional right. There is no freedom to be married. I'm talking about the Constitution here, I don't know what the hell you're talking about.
I'll treat a person kindly regardless of their opinions or beliefs, but I still won't care about some topics.
I just can't be bothered to care about things I have no influence or interest in. I'm Christian so I'll treat gay people as well as I do anyone, but I won't assist them with being gay.
Besides, with all the pissing and moaning that goes on there are already plenty of people arguing without me getting stressed.
Because marriage is between a man and a woman. That's why God made dicks and vaginas.

anything up, his plan is perfect though we as humans may not see it. Animals have no souls, they have no morals, and they have no rules to live by. Also being gay is a choice. Why do you think that a person doesn't decidw they are gay until way later in their life? Im not even talking about coming out. That's how a guy can date a girl and then a year or two later she DECIDES that she wants to be a lesbian.
@purplebeauty She doesn't decide anything. She has always been a lesbian. I know a lesbian girl and she said she always thought she was straight only because her parents were Christian, but she couldn't orgasm with a guy, only with a girl.
And science already has a "Gay Gene". We found it. You can deny that as many times as you like, but we know for a fact that being gay isn't a choice. It's something you're born with.

Well, I just thought I would say that because I was called a "homophobe" recently for refusing to change my profile picture into the rainbow flag.
Despite that I accept gay marriage, but I'm not a passionate supporter as it doesn't affect my life and that I have my own problems and worries.

Marriage is an institution where people make kids and get fat together. Gay people do neither so I really don't care.
I know plenty of people who are married and will never have or want children, so that really doesn't make much sense.

@fraikrop64, someone actually posed this question that if the only thing that makes a marriage, a marriage, is having kids, then are you going to revoke the marriages of couples that a) can't have kids straight or gay or b) refuse to have kids or c) couples that have chosen soley to adopt children. I mean if your whole argument is that gays can't have kids for the no kid reason, then you too have to tell the straights their marriages mean nothing becuase the only reason anyone should ever get married in your eyes is to have kids, not because maybe they love each other or can provide a happy home for kids biological or not.
