Is this MARRIAGE LOGIC MAP correct?

In this logic map, from Comedian Don McMillan, Don is the husband and Laura is the wife. Simply put, the wife is never wrong. 😎

For those of you who are married... Is this the way arguments always turn out? It seems to be right for me and my wife. 😐

Maybe for that’s the "Relationship Logic Map" for Don McMillan, and many other's! But I apologized to my fiancé Lee just the other day, merely for overreacting to something he said. In our home, who is right and who is wrong is based entirely on the objective facts! Now, in situations where it's merely an opinion, then if we cannot convince the other, then we simply agree to disagree, and that's okay! No two people raised in completely different ways under differing circumstances will ever agree on everything. Being "wrong" is genuinely not a big deal, unless you make it a big deal! If your ego is so fragile it cannot withstand being incorrect, then you might need to work on you! The best way to approach being wrong, is to use it as a learning experience. So in our home, the “Relationship Logic Map" looks more like this:

Oh, and if we are both right, well I don’t know b/c it’s never happened yet. If it does, I guess we’ll have to celebrate with sex? It could be worse¯\_(ッ)_/¯ . We both agree that logic, reason, and objective truth are more important in an argument than subjective belief and emotions. So it’s not uncommon for us to look up the answer if it is a disagreement on objective fact! Don't get me wrong, we’re all human, and humans are emotional creatures. Our emotional needs do need to be met, and for me, they are! But just because emotionally I feel like I'm right, doesn't necessarily mean that I AM right! Now, if I'm sad, or upset about something, I may need Lee to tell me "don't worry, baby, it'll be OK!” Even if he believes that it may not be! Knowing him as well as I do, in that situation he would be hoping for the best, but absolutely preparing for the worst! I love that about him, among the many other reasons to love him, I love how his mind works! I don't understand why these women just HAVE to be right, all the time ? How can anyone truly love someone, yet at the same time rob him of the simple dignity to just be acknowledged as being in the right, when he is right about something? My god I love that man, I certainly don’t love being wrong about something, but if I am wrong, then it means that the man I love more than anything, is right! If we really are a partnership, I mean we are truly a team, then why would not celebrate that the man I will be marrying, and who will be the father of our children WAS RIGHT? Geez lady, just let the guy be right when he’s right 🙄

You can both be wrong but there's different degrees of wrong and the husband is always more wrong. Wife logic is I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong, which makes sense to me.

Every woman maintains she is always right. But I insist on logical analysis often prefaced with "What makes you think that...".

If it just affects her I might content myself with giving advice. But when it all goes belly up again we'll do brutal after action reviews of her decision making.

For a lot of women, what they first think has to be right. One of my acquaintance managed to turn a $200 problem into a $2,000 problem through a series of poor decisions. It makes a good case study. She thought she had won (her word) a free towing. She thought that's great without thinking where can I tow my car to and do I really need to tow it.

There will be "Remember when you..." into the future now.

This is what women wish to believe but all too often it signals imbalance and immaturity in a relationship. An inability to admit fault and learn from mistakes is a seed which will grow to a horrible and unhealthy relationship.


To simplify this into today’s parlance…it’s a red flag.

as for men... well, we're only heroes when the women allow us to be heroes, we are likely to be villains when we oppose them and for the most part we are side characters to be discarded and disposed of that nobody cares about

I think they tend to struggle with being on the wrong side and will try to keep out of it through actions or words.
Guys tend to be less bothered so although humorous, we can let it slide this way when it's low stakes. As long as she understands it's bs.
