m 1 yAs a non-believer then, roles... Well, I find the concept of submission and authority unpleasant in general. In the context of a relationship, it feels downright alienating to me so I'm doing my best to avoid this configuration. I find it unpleasant because an authority position feels lonely to me, also because it reminds me of a father/infant dynamic, symbolically speaking.
What pleases me the most within relationships, is to be freed, as much as possible, from roles. Because roles are everywhere out there, in how society is organized. So I find it fulfilling and utterly romantic, to inhabit a space, relationships, where I don't have to deal with expected roles that much. And I feel lucky as I found someone carrying a very similar vision :)

1 yI think your definition of loving your wife like Christ loved the church is somewhat flawed. A husband's purpose comes from God and should be his ambition to pursue whatever purpose God has for him. If his wife hinders him from that ambition/purpose, he should not love her. Therefore, saying a husband should sacrifice his ambition/purpose for his wife is illogical according to the biblical definition of marriage. It's a good topic and one I've been diving into recently.

Asker1 yIf your ambitions don't involve her as well then you don't love her enough and you are putting something else over your wife, what God means by this he isn't saying everyone should sacrifice their ambitions for love but he's saying if it ever comes down to a situation where those are you choices you must be willing to sacrifice it for your wife, so if anything your idea of love is flawed, if a woman is going to submit her life to you then the least you can do is put her first, because honestly if you aren't willing to do so then don't marry get a girlfriend and whenever the ambitions you seek for get in the way, choose your ambitions, marriage is vow, til death does y'all apart, not til you find something you want badly and you have to make a terrible choice and ambitions does you apart.

God should always come before the wife. It's the hierarchy of family. Now, some husband's ambitions are prideful, and a good wife will help her husband determine if they are so, but it is a good wife who will support her husband's choices.
I relate it to the adage of "why does God let suffering happen?" Does it mean he doesn't love his church? Of course not.
Asker1 yYes but if she's on the same page then she's aware of that, husband and wife become one flesh under God and that's how it should be, there's actually an answer to that other question by the way, I'll leave a short clip that explains that in a second, a good wife will support her husband's choices but they won't always be the best choices and sometimes someone has to sacrifice more than what is worth for those ambitions and I think that when people should draw the line and it's where I believe God's word comes into play.

Asker1 ySometimes the best choices require sacrifices, imagine you finally get the opportunity to get that high paying job you always wanted but it's far away, in another country and move, your partner says she doesn't want to leave cause her family is there, friends, her life and your family and friends are there too, would you take the job? When and if you do, you make good money but by the time you get back home, your family is no longer with you, your partner Is married to another person and your friends have found lives elsewhere, would that have been worth it?
Asker1 yI believe this being a example of value in sacrifices, it's not all just in black and white

I would say that if the wife chooses to stay behind, she is not a follower of the teachings of the Bible, and therefore not a good wife.
Asker1 yOkay that will lead us to another video, you must know the importance of a woman's role in a marriage, when a wife disagrees with you it's cause she cares about you and supporting you doesn't mean kissing your ass through all the decisions you make, even not the lousy ones, you must know the teachings to preach about them and a woman has a role many men don't seem to understand, it's not to be your follower even through your crap decisions, it's also to be strong when you aren't and to pick you back up, if your decision is lousy you should expect your wife to bring that up to you, you speak about it and y'all can agree on the lousy decision together but listening to your don't listen to your wife it means you don't respect her enough

A disagreeable woman is a woman who doesn't have faith. Now, sure, maybe her husband doesn't deserve her faith. But I can assure you, submitting to a woman is not how you're going to gain it. And let's be clear. Having the authority over the family means having the responsibility too. So, yes, if the husband makes a poor choice it's on him. Which I think is why so many families are failing in the West. The lack of male leadership in families and unfaithful women. The question is which begets the other?
Asker1 yYou can have leadership and put your wife first, if you don't you are a terrible leader actually, even leaders make sacrifices for their pack or in this case, for their family, part of making good choices is known what choices to make on the hard decisions and not just making a choice but making the right choice, if you choose anything else over your wife, you are a terrible leader, the western civilization lack a lot of things and making good decisions is one of those things, if anything that leads to other bad decisions, unfaithfulness runs in both genders and men are just as guilty of being unfaithful, if people followed the guidance in the bible, believer or not, they would have a much healthier love life, I've never heard of a failed relationship because people made the best choices.

We agree on almost everything. We disagree on who should come first in a marriage. And I think what you'll find is that putting your wife first will cause you more harm than good.
Asker1 yI disagree, I think that depends who you choose as your wife, I think the right person would function the way God said it would, I assume you are happily married then

Nope. Made a mistake in the woman I chose.
Asker1 yI'll make sure not to do the same

It's a wise man who learns from the mistakes of others. And if we knew all the answers we'd be in heaven. Hope I've been of some use young man.
I understand the question may not be strictly about death, it’s more about the deeper concept of self sacrifice, so I’m going to answer it from my perspective. Both men and women should strive for selflessness. Whether a woman should be worth dying for, I would say yes, if she is doing everything right and is a good person, but a man should be worth dying for as well. Now your question, am I worth dying for? I would like to think so, but I won’t say yes, because that’s only up to my future partner, which is his own person, and can also have different beliefs and values.

Asker1 yIf your future partner is gonna love you he would die for you but the question is weither you are worth dying for, a guy can die for a woman he loves that doesn't love him back which would make the woman not worth dying for
Asker1 yCool, pats head* 🙂
Asker1 yI'm sure you are a worthy person to die for V but you are hard to read lol
But if you got good quality it's good to make it known, it's not even being cocky anymore, it's necessary nowadays since bad quality is everywhere, you can't just hide your 🎉pazzas🎉
Asker1 yMy overactive mind will take that into consideration lol
1 ynot sure i fully understand😅 but i think i would rather have a man that lives for me rather than dies for me!!😲💕

I'm not very religious, and I'm not married neither, but I've given your question some thought.

Asker1 yThat's good Alice, so far so good 🤣
Anonymous(30-35)1 yApparently so, since my wife is generally submissive, and she would say I treat her very well (and I do). It's a happy existence for both of us. It feels natural. We are not religious by the way. I just think it's the natural dynamic between men and women when we set aside ego, politics and political correctness.

Wow this is pretty extreme. Is life ever like this?

Asker1 yI guess that depends on how you look at it, you know what they say, there's details in the small things, if you only look at the bigger picture, how many details are you missing out on.
Asker1 yPossibly not, but any extreme cards in life you don't personally get is thrown at someone else, the words of God is universal, such extremes might never be necessary for you specifically but someone else might need that guidance and that's only if its not a timing thing, you might need to later on in life, it good to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it type of thing, in this specific case, true love might require sacrifices and it could've been meant to be if you didn't for example chase that job in another state, or gotten angry and let pride and ego control you, the guidance is there for who needs it.
Asker1 yIt all relies on weither you follow it or not, at the end of the day we are the ones with the choices, how God defines a healthy marriage both must follow the words of God, they remain on the same page and so does their marriage.
Asker1 yWhatever you gotta tell yourself
Asker1 yOkay tf is your point here 😂
I don't know if you've noticed but you weren't the targeted audience for the question lol
I made it clear too, what is your point? That you don't believe, cause I know that 💀
Asker1 yI make assumptions cause I have the ability to do so, since when is thinking of more than one possibility to a outcome a bad thing

@ChicoFromThe305 making assumptions isn't good... you realize that right? Logic is starting with fewest assumptions possible.
Asker1 yAssuming has always worked for me, like now I'm assuming you got nothing better to do 😂
1 yI'd rather risk my life.
