Baking my boyfriend a cake for his birthday? bad or good idea?

I was thinking about baking my boyfriend a cake for his birthday, would a guy like this or would you prefer one bought from the store?

It's his 21st birthday and he wants a quiet one with me as its during the week he will celebrate at the weekend.

I've hired out a hotel for one night only and I was going to put loads of 21 balloons everywhere and confetti with roses petals, lit candles all over the hotel for a surprise and all over the bath room with bubble bath then go in later together!

I'm also Cooking him dinner whatever he requests and I was thinking maybe making a surprise birthday cake? what would you think if your girlfriend done this for you? anyone any other ideas?

Hell yea bake him a cake guys love that type of stuff, its simple, thoughtful and passionate gift to give. Its the simple things that count do it!

I would love it. It is a great idea for a birthday present to him. If it were my girlfriend doing that for me I would be pleased and very happy.

i think it's a sweet idea and personally I'd appreciate a cake my girl baked just for me more than one picked up from a store :D
