I was at an auction the other day, for something I wanted.. however, another guy, bid on a different color of the same thing. Turns out though, that, the one he bid on, wasn't part of the set, and well, i was the one who got the part of the set..
I was so unselfish about it, that i said, hey man, would you like to trade, so that you may have the complete set, since you just won the first part of it, and had originally bid on the other color

Phones are highly personal and a terrible gift idea. He clearly meant well, but that’s something to be discussed. I want to make those decisions for myself. I’m sure he’d understand if you explained it to him, or, possibly, let you use his credit card, since you’ll only be using free apps anyway.
You're ungrateful, are you serious? Are you dumb? You'll eventually put your credit card info on other websites too. You know how iPhones cost? You're pretty spoiled to give it back and tell him to sell it. That would hurt his feelings.
When someone gives me a gift even if I don't really like it, I say "thank you" and move on.
You have a good phone why would you need another one. I would tell him to take it back or use it himself.

Yeah, the apps are “free” but it’s still considered a legit purchase of $0 because of that they need payment information.
There are ways for handling this but you sound pretty set on Google phones. Did you boyfriend at least talk to you about it and not just “Here’s an iPhone!”.
Yes you would. iPhones last way longer than androids. Androids are easier to use and are less annoying as far as the amount of passwords and verification goes as well as allowing you to download free music but you should always keep an iPhone as a backup.
Usually not a good idea to treat a gift that way. Talk to him about it nicely and tell him your issue... tell him how thankful you are that he bought you such a nice gift and you don't want to sound ungrateful but you ran into an issue. See how he feels about it.

Personally I would say that if he gave it to you, I would say to him that you prefer your Android and ask him if he'd be offended if you sold it. I can't stand the iPhone and will never own another one ever again.☯️

I’ve mostly had iPhones, and I’m rocking the 12 pro max now. I gave my son my old iPhone 11 and he is able to get on the App Store without a card on file.
