Spend a samll amount, pay it off in full each month. I use them all the time, give better protection online as responsibility for fraud lies more with card company then individual. Only ever a problem if you let balance build up
I've had credit cards for years. I use them instead of cash and pay off the bill in full each month. That's the best way to build your credit score at no risk to you.
The main reason I got a credit card is that when I first started using Amazon they did not accept banking cards for their products, and now my limit is high enough to buy a brand new car.
I mostly used them as a convenience and not a way to get a short term loan. I was really taken aback when I got my first home mortgage. I thought about having to pay this thing every month for the next 30years. I do not feel comfortable with debt.
@vald9inches true... we did put money down though, and our household income is decent. Our mortgage payment every month is 15% of our income and we pay extra every month because we don't like to owe people. Our only debt right now is the mortgage. We got it in November 2021 and we're already a year ahead on payments 😂
Yes I am comfortable with it and know how to use it responsibly. I have no debt and a 770 credit score. Thankfully because of my financial responsibility and being proactive I qualified to get a mortgage when I was 23.
I think the reason more males answered this question is because western society teaches us to be providers and historically expects us financially independent so we are are expected to have an opinion.
For me this is a faith based decision the Bible says the borrower is slave to the lender and speaks against debt and also against usury (borrowing with interest payments) so I do not have a credit card
Paying it off immediately is perfect. You will avoid fees and there are a lot of cards that give rewards for using them. As long as you don’t use credit cards to buy things you can’t afford, it is a great way to build credit and get some perks.
Unfortunately this is the system that capitalism gives us to buy the outrageously expensive basic life needs such as buying a home or education or healthcare

I do not use a credit card. I bought a house just fine at 2.875%. You can set up your normal bills to build your credit.
I physically HAVE a credit card, but I never use it.
How much is your house?
Also what is your credit score roughly
@vald9inches I bought my house for $375K (current value is about $415K). My credit score is 825.
Good credit score 👍 but $375k is still a lot of money to owe and it's not for everyone

I don't like them either but well... they are a need sometimes, I can trust myself with one though, that matters the most
I’m an authorized user on my mom’s credit card and I think it’s pretty cool
Wow! 21 guys answered this and only 2 girls counting me. Weird.

This however is changing.

I also dont like credit cards, i dont want to take any loan ever in my life
Sameeeee 😭

I look at all the APR'S first and it reminds me why I want no part of them.
yeah i got a couple.. paying them off currently. not recommended :/
I don't have any and don't need one. And I have a house. I don't buy if I can pay there and then.
Unfortunately this is the system that capitalism gives us to buy the outrageously expensive basic life needs such as buying a home or education or healthcare
Just like how they make it impossible to live in the US without buying a car it's impossible to live in the US without having good credit
i dont either. Especially if i dont know if i can pay it back
Yeah whenever I have to pay for something using it. Cash just looks more "objective" not sure what other word to use
It was pretty uncommon in my home country, but you get used to it. Just never use it to spend more than you have. Check it often, pay it often.
That's how I use my credit card, as well. I don't spend more money than I actually have.
I would only feel that way if I ran up a lot of debt on one.
