I never knew what an Allen wrench was until I purchased furniture at Ikea. Now I groan whenever I have to use one.
Needless to say it was the last time I purchased any kind of furniture from them. It's pretty and modern but it's cheaply made and doesn't last.
In my opinion they are not. You have to put them together yourself so they use cheap joints and materials that won't last unless you are very delicate with them. They may look good at the start, but in 5 years they will be falling apart.
