I find shirkflation seriously insulting. If you gonna sell me something then don't bs me with the product hardly has anything in it yet the prices keep rising. 😤

Besides the prices of things increasing, the portions in some things are getting smaller too. I have noticed Popsicles for instance. The length of them have shrunk. as well as ice cream bars getting smaller. These are readily noticeable while other things may not be right off without comparing an old with a new.
The ice cream bars getting smaller are definitely noticeable and the bars of soap too.
Inflation because it affects the overall price of things.. Shrinkflation, is basically manufacturers not having enough of the resources they once had and maybe shrinking down or using another ingredient.. It is annoying, but it's somewhat manageable... Unless inflation which is government digging in money we don't have lowering the value of the dollar..
You actually believe manufacturers don't have enough resources so that's why they are shorting their product? LOL...
I think it's pretty complicated on that matter.. I do believe they don't always have the same exact ingredients to make what they used to, the scummy part is they use inflation to keep their products at the same or higher prices.. That's what I believe anyway.. Or maybe the cost of production gets too high and they still wanna make the same or more of the profit..
Cost of production is super cheap. Machines mainly do the work.
They are just being greedy.
They would have to import the ingredients as well.. Not complaining defending them though.
Completely..
Definitely shrinkflation.
Why? Manufacturers entirely change the ingredients of their products. This ruins the flavor, renders recipes dependent on their products unusable, and I get food for the same price. It only encourages me to make more food from scratch in case of these things. Take cake mixes.
Shrinkflation is inflation. Companies have been doing that for years

Inflation because that means that the value of all the money i have saved in my entire life has been devalued. Bidenomics has put millions of retirees in peril. Since Biden has become president the number of elderly people living in poverty has increased from 9% to %15 .
Many products are not suited for shrinkflation (think Quarter Pounder® with Cheese), but where it's done, it's sneaky. It took me months to notice the Haribo packages went from 200 gram to 175 gram to 160 gram, with the same price! :-o
shrinkflation... that's more annoying to me
but sometimes I actually get hit with both... FTW!
I prefer shrinkflation just because I'd rather have too little of something than have none at all because the smallest option is still too expensive. Both are basically the same thing though, and I hate both.
I hate shrinkflation worse. Dammit, I KNOW the prices are going up. You're not fooling anyone by making everything smaller, you're just creating more packaging. Dimwits!
Both, but as overall inflation is cause by governments increaing the money supply thus devaluing our savings, I find inflation worse.
Agreed. And grapes are an excellent example.
Like literally inflated chip bags only 1/4 filled.
Shrinkflation, actual inflation makes me good money
like the bag of air that has a few chips in it?
Exactly.
Bar of Soap is the worse though.
I consider shrinkflation is a scam.
People will complain about anything.
