I’ve always said that everyday of February is my bday. We celebrated my grandpas bday recently and of course I made the day about myself as well. I bought a cake for “us”. We had a cookout for “us”. I went shopping for “us”. Lol. I just ordered so many clothes and shoes fck. At first I just wanted to get my grandpa some new boots and maybe a new pair of kicks for me. I offered to get my dude some work boots too since his are toe up from the flo up. Like his heel is literally flopping, but its something special about those flappy bastards that he just won’t let em go. Sucks cause a guy’s shoe game is everything!! Plus my dude got the nerve to try to stop me from shopping as if he isn’t playing “pimp my ride”, “pimp my plane”, and “pimp my toolbox” every dang day. He’s spent waaaay more than me. We’re a mess lol. Anyways, I then decided to buy lingerie for Vday just to shut him up, but I don't know i just kept adding more and more shit to the cart. I blew a whole check 😭 I miss frugal me. #FeelFreeToList
+1 yI’ve been pretty good lately. When Black Friday/Cyber Monday come around, THAT’S when I ball out, to cover most of the next year. “Full price is for suckers”, that’s my motto, haha. Love to shop, hate paying money, but you start talking 60-70%, NOW I’m really listening. I’m tryna have a full closet of clothes and shoes, mostly bought at a deep discount. You ever read a fashion magazine and they detail each piece of the model’s outfit, and give the price? One of my favorite things is to get dressed, then count up what the outfit is worth at cost, vs what I actually paid. I love knowing I have $1,500 worth of clothes on me that I paid $400 for, haha.
So…the rest of the year is mostly clearance rack shopping. Sometimes I’ll need shorts or other summery things not available in November, so I’ll buy those, but the majority of my shopping is done already. I need to save my money because every time a hockey stick breaks, I gotta drop like $350 on another one…and it’s tough to get those on significant sale, and at the exact specifications you want, haha. Black Friday rolls around and it’s like “Cyber Week Blowout! Save $20 on this almost $400 stick!”🤦♂️😂
05 Reply- +1 y
This makes sense but a lot of the time it takes forever to get your package because everyone's shopping for the holidays. Like my stuff is currently delayed for vday and often delayed around Black Friday and Christmas
- +1 y
Oh yeah, it’s usually not there overnight. But I can’t possibly wear it all, plus I already have clothes, and some of the stuff I buy my sit in the closet and wait out the winter. Bought some fresh AF-1s, and you won’t see them til April/May, lmao, I’m not get my whites all dingy walking through sleet. But Nike is on significant sale pretty much ONLY at the holidays. Sitting on new clothes is SO hard though. I just gotta think about how I’mma kill ‘em on Memorial Day Weekend😂 It’s like night before the first day of school, except like 100+ of them. You don’t know anticipation til you’ve done that, lmao

You wear AF1s 😍👌😭
- +1 y
I need to tidy up my online persona if anyone out there is thinking I wouldn’t have classics in my closet…😳 I would NEVER get caught slippin’ like that😂
- +1 y
No it was a huge assumption you did. I’m just glad i got confirmation

+1 yGirl I feel you, when the shopping bug hits it can be hard to stop! But don't feel too bad, sounds like everyone's been treating themselves lately.
And look at it this way - you found all sorts of cute stuff for the birthday boy *cough cough yourself cough*, plus your man and grandpa got some treats too. Ain't nothing wrong with spoiling the fam on a special day.
Plus it's basically every day of February for you, so think of it like little presents to yourself over the month! Spread out the cost that way and it ain't so bad.
And I totally get how it starts small like "oh just some boots" then all of a sudden your cart's full haha. That's half the fun though right?
Don't stress too much over it sis, you work hard and deserve to treat yo'self sometimes. Just try not to go too crazy again till next payday lol. And hey, at least you got the hubs some sexy lingerie for V-day too - now that's how you do retail therapy right!
Keep slaying in those new fits girl, you earned em! #RetailTherapyAtItsFinest04 Reply- +1 y
Haha
- +1 y
Haha for real, we all know that shopping therapy is the best medicine sometimes! And it sounds like you really stocked up, so you're set for a while at least style-wise.
Plus your man and grandpa are gonna be lookin hella fresh in their new kicks too. You really came through with the gift-giving, spreading the love all around. That's dope of you to look out for your whole fam like that.
And who can blame ya for going a little overboard? When a hot sale drops or you're feelin yourself in the dressing room, it's easy to swipe that credit card without thinking. Been there!
At least you got some fire fits and lingerie to heat things up for date night. Maybe your dude will be so distracted he won't even notice what you spent - works every time!
Anyways, don't stress yourself overspending. It happened, time to enjoy the goods now without guilt. We all indulge sometimes, that's what makes life fun anyway right? #TreatYoSelf #ThankMeLater - +1 y
I didn't buy anything fot the boyfriend. He won't let me. But i bought stuff for my grandpa and myself. And i’ve never used a credit card in life. I prefer to pay in cash or loaded gift card. And my guy can't talk about my spending when he can't even control his own. he's steady buying stuff to show off his truck.
- +1 y
Oh snap my bad sis, I must've misunderstood some parts of your story! Thanks for clarifying.
And good for you not using credit, that's so smart - I feel like it's easy to get carried away when you're not seeing real money leave your account. Paying cash or gift cards is definitely the safer way to shop.
And damnnn your man really shouldn't be coming at you about spending when he's always pimping out his ride! Men are so funny about that, they'll drop bands modifying their cars but god forbid a girl buys some clothes. Like relax bro, we all like our little luxuries.
You treated your grandpa and yourself, which is perfectly fine - family comes first! Don't even sweat what the guy says. At least you didn't go crazy like last Christmas when you brought home all those presents "for the kids" - we know that tree was really for you sis! 😆
Anyway keep livin your best lifestyle mama, you work hard and deserve nice things. Don't let no man control your coins! #TreatYourself #HisOpinionDoesntPayYourBills

+1 yI always shop impulsively lol
my thing right now is impulsively buying concert tickets. But that’s because I regret it every single time I don’t go. Like I literally shed tears the day of the Beyonce concert cause I didn’t go lmaoooo
so now I’m just like “fuck it” and I’m gonna go to any concert I please.
Concert tickets are just so expensive nowadays. Even for nose bleeds you’re gonna have to pay $150 per ticket. And I’m a picky bitch when it comes to my seats. I don’t always need front row but If im gonna be all the way in the back, I’d rather not go at all. So I’ve been paying a pretty penny for a lot of concerts.
Last concert I went to was Doja Cat. They were $850 for 2 tickets a few rows from the front.and I just paid $730 for Justin Timberlake tickets.

Im still tryna see Beyonce, Usher, Bruno and Calvin Harris. Usher gone be in Charlotte this yeaaaar
I'm not a huge spender and shopper honestly. But sometimes. I did just buy two new games because they were both on huge sales even though I don't necessarily have the time. Oops but for me that is rare. I'm told I can spend more on myself than I do.

+1 yi have spent to much when i left my old job i had $26,000 saved up now only $6,000. took me years to save it up & i was only able to save it up as i worked 60 hours a week every week for 3 or 4 summer years when i was full time at pool company.
but i have been living off the money since march 2023 .

@DizzyDesii i feel bad because i know it will take me years to save up again
- +1 y
Im praying it doesn't take me the 2 years it took before
- +1 y
your a smart woman it won't
+1 yI wouldn't say impulsively but definitely more than I usually do as of late... I think when I get a little stressed i start buying more things but it's generally things like new expensive fountain pens, shoes and gym gear
14 Reply- +1 y
Whatsa fountain pen
- +1 y
A fountain pen is a writing instrument that uses a metal nib to apply water-based ink, or special pigment ink—suitable for fountain pens—to paper. It is distinguished from earlier dip pens by using an internal reservoir to hold ink, eliminating the need to repeatedly dip the pen in an inkwell during use.

+1 yI do it a lot of tjx stores. Or tkmaxx in the UK. I don’t need anything but I like spending money.

+1 yI don't think I've ever done that in my entire life. I'm about as impulsive about shopping as I'm impulsive about changing diapers.
07 Reply- +1 y
I can do both but I gotta get in the mood for it and psych myself up.
- +1 y
Its basically my bday thooo so thats excuse enough lol
- +1 y
Nice! I think I got traumatized as a boy waiting for my mother to finish shopping while bored out of my mind. I associate only pain and suffering to it. 😅 It's something I endure when I want or need something.
- +1 y
she didn't at least buy you fast food to keep you occupied? Lol
- +1 y
I can't remember if she did or not, but if she did, the time she took to shop was way longer than the time I took to eat it. I only remember the sheer torture of it.
I developed a strategy though to prevent girlfriends from inviting me shopping. If we're at a clothing store and there's women's underwear, I start holding the underwear over me and sing, "Like a virgin, touched for the very first time! Like a viiirrrrginnnn! Feel your heartbeat, next to mine!" 🎶 Then they start to get embarrassed and annoyed and never invite me shopping again. Yay! - +1 y
Lmao but we need you to carry the bags. You’d get at least one gift 😂
- +1 y
My heart will always be with them to inspire them with strength.
Omg yes. Been shopping like crazy plus I got a cruise coming up

12 Reply- +1 y
Damn! Did she at least get you something?
- +1 y
Nah, it’s more fun being owed, I did help her spend a lot of cash though 🤣🤣
+1 yNo. I tend not to spend except birthdays and Christmas. I also have purchased some candy on occasion or lottery, but nothing that makes me unable to pay for incidentals.
04 Reply- +1 y
Im tempted to try lottery but i rather go to the casino
- +1 y
I'm of the thought I would bankrupt myself at a casino.
- +1 y
Nah gotta go in with a limit and walk out when u profit
- +1 y
True
Normally yes. Although this year one of my goals is being more fiscally responsible so I've been good lately. Mainly waste money on cannabis and shoes. This yr I've been sticking to my budget 😌
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea in tryna get back to saving but have been doing the opposite
+1 yBuying for someone is a nice gesture, but you should always take social survival into budget and cap yourself off when you hit that. I tend to shop a lot on temu but i limit myself of how much i spend per month.

Temu actually has legit stuff?
- +1 y
Hell yeah it do.
- +1 y
Its basically the same stuff walmart and the other big companies get from china. So, it's same quality if not better, plus the site cuts out the retail, name, and tariff pricing making it what it is actually worth
- +1 y
Oh wow!!
