What are your thoughts on gifting/getting gifted thtifted items?

Depends on the person you’re offering it to and also the quality/value of the item.

For example, I used to go thrifting with my grandpa for certain items he loved to collect. Till today if I spot something that would fit unit he collection I smile and think of him. But it’s not something I’d buy and give to someone else… they wouldn’t get the context, the history, the value, etc.

I don't care if a gift I get is new or thrifted, just as long as it's something I like. Giving thrifted gifts depends the recipient. I do give thrifted gifts but not to people I know won't appreciate it.

I wouldn't mind getting a thrifted gift. My wife and I both exchanged gifts from a thrift shop a few times. It was something each of us liked and it was useful. She got me a dresser caddy for when I take my stuff out of my pockets at night. It was perfect. I bought her a lighted Disney castle. They don't make them anymore so the thrift shop was the only way to get it.

If it were cool and something that was "me" I'd prefer that over something that was far more expensive but obviously required no thought.

I've also found some treasures, literally and figuratively, at Goodwill and Salvation Army, so i have no problem shopping Thrift myself.

I love it!! Both giving and receiving those types of gifts. It's nice to find unique items you can't just go get from a store. To me, it makes the gift seem extra special

I wouldn't mind receiving thrifted items as gifts. Some of the things you find in thrift shops can be absolute gems.

Depending on what it is , something I like they are great.
My sister just gave me an antique firefighter shaving cup she saw and planted some hens and chick's in it.
I now have it in my man cave, "Station 2"
