And too much noise from you and your kind. People in the working class all over the world are being discriminated their children work and grow up illiterate and there isn't one thread on any forum and some millionaire spends a little of his monthly income changes his identity and everybody calls people ignorant and hateful and bullshits about discrimination.
Mocking a 65 year old man with a penis who wants to be called Caitlyn after living a life is no discrimination compared to real discrimination that is out there in this world. Stop your bullshitting about discrimination if you don't have an idea about it. You're the one being ignorant about the harsh reality of real discrimination. And nobody's even mocking him. Many are disgusted because seeing a man putting on a thick layer of makeup to look like a woman is not pleasant to watch, whether you want to accept it or not.
I'm not disgusted and I don't care. But people's personal view about such unimportant subject isn't ignorant
@siriuss-black there are millions of threads on many forums concerning all kinds of discrimination. This is not just about Caitlyn, you fail to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture is that there are SO many people out there, who are struggling just like Caitlyn, who are afraid of being who they truly are on the inside, simply because of the huge amount of backlash, discrimination, disrespect and abuse that they would be met by. Caitlyn, although being more privileged than many other trans* people, is able to represent this community and shine light on the issue. Just because people out there are illiterate or starving to death, it doesn't make this issue less serious, and it doesn't mean that people should keep treating trans* people badly. Both issues are serious. Both deserve recognition. Why is it unpleasant to see someone transform into a woman? Why is it so shameful to you to be a woman? Why is being a woman so disgusting and bad? Says more about your view on women.
No of course there aren't SO many people like Bruce out there. The population of Gays and bisexuals are a tiny little minority compared to the whole population in every country and transgenders are a tinier minority between LGBT community who aren't even being discriminated like LGBT attempts to show. They are models and actors for Christs sake, what discrimination is there but some people disliking their appearances? Nobody has to like anybody's appearance and everybody is free to express his disgust or love for something that he or she sees. So that is no discrimination.
And of course it does make this issue look unimportant. We don't have enough time to exaggerate every problem we have in the society and more than half of the image of discrimination is now taken over by LGBT community in some way when there are people normal men and women without such psychological and hormonal problems in the same society dying of starvation and no one gives a single shit about them.
And it's because LGBT has taken over most of Media's image for discrimination in west.
There is nothing bad about being a woman. Most of these people still have penises under their skirts, they are no women. Real women were always respected in west in one way or another.
@siriuss-black not all trans* people are models and/or actors. Just because this myTake mentioned some of the more famous trans* people, it doesn't mean that ALL trans* people are famous. A lot of trans* people are closeted, afraid of being who they are because of the potential abuse. Would you say that it isn't discrimination to be disgusted by and to hate black people? Or Asian people? I mean, people are allowed to express their disgust? To say that nobody gives a shit about those who are starving to death is ignorant. You're completely dismissing the hard work put in by those who dedicate their lives to giving these people a better life. There are over 7 BILLION people on this planet, and you want to claim that we don't have the "time" to acknowledge smaller issues than starvation? That's bullshit. People are allowed to spend as much time as they want on issues they feel are important to THEM. These people ARE women, whether you like it or not. Gender is not just about genitals.
Black people are a race. To say a race's appearance disgust you is ignorant. But to dislike the appearance of an individual in black community that is no discrimination that is personal view. Your example was completely irrelevant.
I didn't say all trans people are actors and models I said you see these actors and models know there is no real discrimination on these people and they have equal opportunities as me and my children. That is equality and there is no discrimination in there.
Those who are starving to death are starving to death and having no equal opportunities because of the very governments themselves. In America in Asia in my own country. I think you think of African people when you hear starvation. No there are people being discriminated in this very country because of the system. And the same system exaggerates and fills the TV of real discriminated people with some middle class people's problems called discrimination.
I don't care if you want to exaggerate or put your time on defending transgenders there are so many people who don't want to do it and also find their appearance unpleasant. So they express their dislike for these people's appearance and choice in carelessness and they are free to do so. Just like you are free to call them beautiful and women as much as you wish.
@siriuss-black not all trans* people are so fortunate to become actors/actresses or models. A lot of trans* people are not allowed a job because they're trans*. Just because a few manage to make something out of themselves, it doesn't mean all trans* people manage to do that. That's not equal opportunity, that's luck and a lot of hard work. Trans* people are about more than just appearance though. It's their identity. It's who they are. I think you're confusing drag queens with trans* people. I don't think "African people" when I hear starvation, I'm aware of the fact that starvation happens all around the world. Quit making assumptions about me, I'm not an idiot. Freedom of speech is NOT more important than human rights.
I don't care about transgenders, I think they can do whatever the hell they want to their bodies, as long as they're not hurting others.
But I don't agree with the title "transgender is the new black". Wtf? Being a transgender is all the rage now, it's "in" and trendy, so let's all become trans? Again, what the fuck?

What a fricken freak show. At this rate in a few years people are going to start breeding with rare, near extinct animals because the other freaks, you know, the ones who think this is totally normal, will think it's "cool" to be friends with a hermaphrodite with 4 legs that can speak 3 languages as well as bark, meow or chirp.
What a mess this world is turning into. Time for a nuke & start over... again.
How the fuck do you even come to a conclusion like that? There are no similarities between bestiality and being transgender. Making a connection like that is so ignorant and immature.
It's not the 'new' anything. You're treating this like it's some kind of fad. These are real people with real identities that they have to live with, including the ignorance and prejudice they have to face.
Missing the point because the high profile magazine cover model certainly is new. And don't take the term 'new' so literally. It's a reference to a popular TV series.
@Remonster it's still insensitive and wrong, in my opinion. It's not new because many men and women have battled with their gender indentities for years.
Please lookup the meaning of "the new black" first before you get hung up on a single word. It's not insensitive at all. It's acknowledging the movement.
I don't know why we should be accepting of this. This isn't a video game! there is no character creation, you are given what you are given. women are supposed to be offended by this shit. a guy cuts off his balls, gets a boob job, puts on a bathing suit and calls him self a courageous woman? no. Rosa parks was a courageous woman, not this disgrace to humanity.
well Ill just to agree to disagree at this point, I was only trying to share why I believe what I believe. I think its important for people to understand and respect each other even if they don't agree. It doesn't seem many are inclined to do that, so I don't have anything else to add.
I agree with u @HappyToBeAlive I really find this... Awful.. What people r doing to themselves is just so wired and I don't like it at all... Of course I won't go out bullying and insulting people who do it but I definitely won't support that crap of trans to another gender... Be happy with what u have... A girl with a d**k and I guy with breasts... That's so not cool or right...
Calling transgendered the new black is very disrespectful to black people. Who I believe their social struggles are legitimate vs transgendered. Transgendered issues are such a small minority compared to blacks to the point it's insulting to make a comparison.
OMG The phrase actually originates in the fashion world. The colour Black is always considered chic and popular in the fashion world, so "____ is the new black" means that it is now being considered the new 'in' thing. NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE!!
No, I am sorry. What to know what the new black is? It is the old black. People are trying to popularize the notion of people trying to be what they are obviously not. I don't care what people do behind closed doors. I don't care if they want to live a lie. Makes me no difference. Just don't demand that I support this and we'll be just fine.
People don't even know what does it mean being yourself. Human brain is so complex it can change a whole memory and replace it with a lie you make and you don't even realize what was the truth 10 years later. And people think some confused people are "being themselves". Let them be the fuck they want just don't shove the images down our throats.
Yeah, You hit the nail right on the head. if people tell themselves the same lie over and over again, They do in fact start to believe it. I have personally seen this happen.
This is disturbing and scary. I don't want to make fun of these people, they just freak me out. It is so twisted to see people look at these disfigured men and say "Oh *she*'s so beautiful!"
What a strange world we live in, that we are trying to accept mental illness as a normal thing in society.
I think those people are STRONG, not weak. They are risking it all for their own happiness and well being. They may be criticized, hurt, and told they are wrong, but they will fight for themselves because nobody can do it for them. Taking care of yourself is not weak.

wait they gave up on being a man so they are brave? what the heck? some people who make these changes do it obviously because they could not find joy or happiness from being a man and they want to be "free". to me this is cheating because they never have to go through periods or metapase. being a women is more than just having fun and looking pretty to me no offense no offense just a satire on women. they by all means are aloud to do this but it seems like they just want to shove it down peoples throat. plus just because you go through a change/choice that you made and have to put up with is not the same as being labeled because something you were born as. this is not the same as a hermaphrodite

Also everyone has their own feelings and opinions on this and as long as it doesn't turn into violence, bigotry, or other such bullshit then you are more than entitled to how you feel.
Transgender is not the new black nor is gay that is the most ignorant statement like come on really. I'm not even going to go into why but this site makes me sick sometimes the ignorance is too much.
The Pervertsexual Mafia's propaganda is everywhere and does not sleep. We must be vigilant, for they never tire. They are possessed of a force from the beyond that won't let them take a break.
It's part of a larger trend actually (trans is not a trend though) it's called sentimentalism. Morality defined by feelings, feelings guide what's right and wrong. If you FEEL like you are a woman, well dammit who's to say your wrong? Whatever you feel, is right! Geez what a great philosophy on life!
I do sometimes worry about the slippery-slope implications sentimentalism and political-correctness have on society. I don't mind transgenders, but there are people out there who are convinced they are wolves. What if in the future they could actually become a sort-of-wolf... It boggles my mind.
put this "god" bs away. your own opinion is whats important not god's. stop dragging him into everything and letting him control your opinions. i personally dont care about trans people. they can do whatever they want. "it's painful and changes your body" yes same with tattoos, piercings, laser hair removal, and cosmetic surgery. just stop telling people how they should be. geez.
Actually most are pretty ugly but to be fair a lot of people are fucking ugly. Andreja is really pretty though and Janet isn't bad. Cait is sooo ugly I don't know how people think she's pretty. You can think they're brave/strong okay but that doesn't make them beautiful. Nobody gave two shits about Bruce but everybody looooooves Cait. Retarded. She was an amazing athlete and what people care about is that she got a bunch of plastic surgery and looks like Courtney Cox/Jessica Lange (both ugly)? Okay.
@been_waiting naaahh she's super ugly in my opinion. Maybe she was pretty when she was young I don't know. Now Julie Andrews, that old lady knows how to age.
@Hannah591 I'm not saying she isn't. I'm also not the one that brought up looks first either (the mytake author did) sooooo I don't see your point. It's not like she'll ever read this so I'm not hurting anyone's feelings.
I just don't buy it. I have no problem with transgendered people. To each their own. However this seems like a publicity stunt. He doesn't even like men. Just wants to be a woman. After 65 years. NO Bruce your just a crossdresser taking advantage of the current public mood to continue to be relevant while you try and keep up with the kardashians. Also why is everything the new black? If you been watching the news the last few years seems like Black is the new black
Why stop there, next making love to little boys will be socially acceptable. Why not? These fine old men can't help themselves, they are drawn to little boys. It wasn't their choice.
Look at John Money, he persuaded a family to give their infant child a sex change, (the first one of its kind) and he came up with the term "gender identity" and "gender role". Later we find that John was a pedo, a pedo activist, he had the child who got the sex change and his brother do sexual acts with each other. the child ended up killing himself.
To him, it was all a great success and the people who disagreed were just biased and anti feminist
All it's going to take is a little popularity and more people will accept the idea no matter how wrong it may be and it will all snowball downhill from there.
This is a very offensive headline, to imply that to be transgendered is a fad. It's not a fad. Trans-visibility might be en vogue right now, but that doesn't mean that once we all forget about it, they go back to their former selves. COME ON.
@Remonster popular also implies that it's a fad. I'll agree that it's also more accepted now but the choice of words "transgender is the new black", "broke the internet", and "making a statement" all connote something that is trendy. This is the reality for a lot of people. To liken it to a fashion trend is just gross to me.
@9mfeo Okay, I can see what you're coming from. But society can certainly encourage certain ways of thinking and feeling to become more 'in vogue'. If transitioning becomes more accepted, more people who doubt their biological gender get easily pushed into hormone-therapy and/or surgery.

The headline of this myTake isn't great either. Geez.
I also see many who say that it is their choice to change and have no problems with that
@vekin yeah, like a handful. The majority of the comments seem to be against it in one way or another.
haven't read all of them.. didn't know there were so many comments.
I think most important to have respect for each other..

@Hannah591 I'm not saying she isn't. I'm also not the one that brought up looks first either (the mytake author did) sooooo I don't see your point. It's not like she'll ever read this so I'm not hurting anyone's feelings.
At least Jessica Lange has embraced the comparisons to Caitlyn. She sounds like a great woman, unlike others.
@Hannah591 Yeah, she handled that well. I know nothing about her but she seems fine.
The line needs to be drawn somewhere.
You clearly haven't seen the "ManBoyLove" website... haha.
To him, it was all a great success and the people who disagreed were just biased and anti feminist
i know right!!! that is what i have been saying...
Lmao.
COME ON.
It is certainly more popular and accepted than ever before. They aren't saying it's a fad at all.
