Soo... Caitlyn... or Bruce, wants to live life as a woman... but still be a man down under? Meaning, he still wants to be with women sexually... so... a Lesbian... but with his man parts? I'm not sure. Its confusing. I don't have a problem with it... it's just a little confusing.

Think of gender identity as something that has no connection to your genitals or sexual orientation.

I'm not entirely sure what her sexual orientation is, but really i don't believe it's any of our business. She most likely is attracted to women, so yes, that'd make her a lesbian. Just be careful with labeling people, as it isn't really anyones business.

He is clearly a mentally ill person who needs help. If you don't so called trans people are not mentally ill look at there suicide rate. Only mentally ill people commit suicide.

Maybe they commit suicide because of all the harsh judgment they receive and the fact that they may never be accepted for who they want to be? Not saying these people aren't mentally ill, however I can understand why their suicide rates would be higher regardless of mental illness.
@Liveyyy That may play a part, but on the other hand trans people often hang out with other people from the LBGT community so they're in good support. For the more isolated transgenders I'd say the suicide risk would be far higher. But what those studies also concluded is that transitioning is not the be-all-end-all solution to become happy again for some of these people. Meaning that it wasn't the right decision after all. A few transgenders also do not feel womanly or manly enough after transitioning, so they grow disillusioned and bitter. It's sad, but yeah.

personally, I think if someone is born with male parts, than they're forever male even if they change how they look. The same goes with females. And because of that, its hard for me to see them as attractive since I still look at them as their biological gender.

That's true. But at least for some of these transitioneers it will give them peace of mind, at the least. However, some studies have concluded that some transgenders were too eager about transitioning. They were still unhappy with themselves after the operations and hormones, which is sad.

Are u dismissing that, via mutation, the emotional and psychological makeup of a human specimen's internal identity doesn't match up with their physical anatomy?
How is it fair for someone to live under a false gender identity that doesn't match their anatomical makeup?
Funny how people want to bring up biology in this transgender -is-wrong argument, but completely overlook genetic mutation (which is very much a part of the biology of all organisms)
@Prof_Don You do realize that in every other organism on the planet, or has ever been on the planet (known history of course), that a genetic mutation is either the catalyst for change (ie: genetic evolution) or a change that is so severe, based on abnormality, that the individual organism will undoubtedly be selected out through natural process, yes?
Point being, your counter to a biological fact is to bring up mutations without completing the circle and describing the bottom line process of said mutations within the cycle of life in every single other facet of natural law? You should probably come up with a different angle as that angle (basically) compliments what the other's are stating and even could be taken to a higher extreme if used.

@bang678 Well, the question wasn't: "Do they care if you think they're sexy?" If that was the question, I would have replied, "Probably not." The question at the bottom of the page was: "Aren't they gorgeous?" to which I gave my reply. Unlike homosexuality, trans gender is a choice. They may think they're a woman but they're still a man. Or vice versa.
It's not a choice so much as it is a disorder. It has an ICD9 code 302.85. Meaning the global medical community views it as such. There is no nor was there ever a code that listed homosexuality as a disorder. There's 302.52 and Z72.52. Which are codes for high risk homosexual behaviors unprotected sex multiple partners that type of thing. But nothing that states it is a disorder. So while yes they feel that they were born in the wrong skin and changing genders fixes that. It's not serious disorder and that's most likely why there's no research on how to repair that part or the neural settings. So it's not an actual choice. It must feel like instinct to them I would imagine.
It is a choice because they're choosing to take the medication, treatment or have the operation.
Do you choose to feel like a man? The only part that is a choice is that they have decided to go through with the various operations to make their bodies fit with their internal view of their body. Now if you wish to argue it as a mental abnormality then you might be able to come up with an argument on those grounds but it really isn't a choice. Why is homosexuality not a choice but trans is by the way? seems like an odd distinction (one being exceptable and one not) is it because it blurs the lines of sexuality for you in a way that homosexuality doesn't? I'm not judging, I just think its important to question everything and everyone including oneself.
If it isn't a choice then it has to me a mental disorder or even a biological error. Think about it, instead of going under numerous operations or taking lots of medication and spending thousands just because of a feeling why not accept you are a man with a biological error. Instead of being a fake woman.
No amount of medication or surgery can make you a woman or give you the ability to give birth.

Honestly, i think its a sign of weakness. That those people can't handle themselves, theyre not strong. They dont like how they are. Why dont they just live with it?
If a poor man for example, wants to become rich, then he shouldn't try to scam people their money. He would be a bad person if he did that (then he changed himself). So instead the poor people they just live with it, and eventually they will adjust to the poverty.
I think its also best for the trans people themselves to not undergo such a thing, because they will be labeled as fake, and unnatural. I think it has more cons than pros.
