Single-Times-Day!

It's apparent that you don't have a special love to share this day with.
You try to get away from the reminders that you are single, but the candies, flowers, and gifts that are displayed everywhere is impossible to get away from.
Lets not dwell on that any further, because that isn't even the icing on your cake.
Your friends continously brag about the plans they have made to share with their significant other on that day.
It's almost as if the sun is coming out for others, but all has gotten dim for you.
The feeling of emptiness is further confirmed, and your feelings grow even worse.
You are left thinking about what you don't have, instead of all of the things that you do.
How do you get away from this harsh cold realization?
Should you hide out in your closet?
Should you fail to answer your phone?

Single-Times-Day!

The way you choose to progress in time, is solely up to you.
How you choose to face each and every situation, lies on your perception of how you view things.
Are you going to spend time dwelling on what you wish you had or recognizing the wonderful things that you do?
Tell me my friend,
isn't there at least one thing on Earth that you LOVE?
The beauty of this is, you don't have to be in a relationship with another to appreciate the fine things that you have in your life.
Again I ask, what is it that you love?
It doesn't have to even be a person, it could be anything!
Is it a food? Is it an animal? Is it your relative? Is it an activity? Is it donating to an organization or volunteering for the less fortunate?

What is it?

Whatever it is, dedicate this day to doing what you love and living your life!
Appreciate what you love, even if it's something that seems small.
There are many people, that exist on Earth that don't even have the opportunity to experience the joy you feel from doing what you love or being around the people you choose to have in your company.
Many of those people are abused, mentality ill, poor, limited mobile function, they would give any moment to be you just for those 24 hours so they can experience your joy.

I know Valentine's Day's main emphasis is on loving a significant other.
But for me, it's about honoring what I love whatever that is!

We all have something we love, it just comes in different forms.

Don't ever let society's traditions discourage you, from viewing that you do have love in your life.
It's okay if it's not the type of love that's constantly displayed.
Never take for granted, that it's something you do have!
