i love the idea of life and living even though i have close to no experience in living life, so on a daily basis i walk from my university down to the city to a book vendor cause books are my passion. over the past couple of months I've become very close to the woman in her late 70's who sells the books. she's 76, never been married, never been kissed, never had children and hasn't even had sex in her life.
she doesn't smoke and she doesn't drink in excess. this woman is sweet and she's beautiful in every mention of the world, her life unfortunately did not turn out the way she wishes it had. she was one of 3 children in the family, her older sister is dead and her younger brother was married and lives in new Zealand now, he's in his 50's and has kids a wife and the whole shabam.
and her sister even though dead had married twice had 4 kids , a house and whatever else comes with being an adult woman.
now the reason the book vendor never got married and never did anything a young woman should have is because instead of following her siblings she stayed home to look after her sick parents and this took up all her time because both her parents were ill and lived on a farm. so she had to take care of everything for her parents, she went to church and dedicated her whole life to srerving others and now ... now she's alone, the farm was repossessed by the bank, she lost the only wealth she could have acquired and now lives in assisted living with nobody by her side..
i visit her as often as i can and i haven't seen her in the past week since I've been studying at home for finals, now yesterday when i went to see her , she wasn't there and i asked one of the shop owners where she was and they told me an ambulance had taken her away the day before... im praying she's ok and she'll be able to come back soon cause she has aspirations and things she still wants to do...
life is for living, we should help others to the best of our ability and do everything with love and affection but we should never neglect ourselves in the process...
and to the best of my ability im honestly planning to try and get in contact with her brother in NZ so he can sponsor her to go and be with him and be around family for the few last years of her life rather than be alone, living in a slum the government calls assisted living.
