There comes a situation in life where we feel like we are stuck and simply cannot change the reality.That doesn't mean you should just give up on everything and drift along ,allowing anything to happen to you and your life. Moreover getting stressed and worrying wouldn't make much of a difference.
It takes an understanding of that balance to find a place of true happiness in your life.
Worry is like a rocking chair: It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.
The problem is that worrying doesn’t actually solve anything; it only creates a lot of negative vibes which stresses us and other people out. It is often said that 99% of things we worry about never come true–when you worry, you merely give a small thing a big shadow. It is a complete waste of energy which we can better use elsewhere.
And most importantly, we can choose to adjust our attitudes and letting go of all our worries about everything we can’t control, which in turn frees us up to take the next best step forward in our lives.
So rather than worrying here are six ways to stop worrying about the things you can’t control:
1. Determining what you can control.
Just plain worrying usually blows any issue out of proportion. Gaining clarity on the exact issues helps you nail down on the core problem so you can address it.
Sometimes, all you can control is your effort and your attitude. When you put your energy into the things you can control, you’ll be much more effective.
2. Identify our actions to address those situations.
Analyze the whole issue and then act on them.
Taking action helps you bring control to a situation which you were feeling helpless over. Worrying only gives you a false sense of control and doesn’t help you accomplish anything.
3.Thinking of it as the worst.
Imagine the worst case scenario. Then, figure out your contingency plan to address that .Moreover by imagining the worst case scenario and then preparing for it will literally have you covered for anything that will be thrown in your way.
4. Creating a stress management plan.
Stress management strategies are a must whether life is going well or when we are encountering tough times .Exercising, eating healthy, participating in leisure activities and getting plenty of sleep are just a few key things we need to do to take care of ourself.
5. Distracting yourself with another activity.
Really can’t seem to get it out of your head? Then doing something completely unrelated and different that forces you to focus on something else is a good way to lessen the worrying part.This is most effective if you choose an activity that you get fully immersed in.
6.Calling a friend to talk about your issue
Talking about your worry with your friend will really help you get your head straight about whether your worry is realistic, worth worrying about, and something you can actually do anything about. It will help you understand that there’s no point worrying about it if the outcome is out of your hands, and hence let’s you offload some of the weight you carry around. In the end, we are left with a life where worrying is modus operandi of the day and it depends on us that how we control that situation.
We only feel helpless when we let the situation overpower us.
