I saw this actress on ethnicelebs and she listed herself as African American her name is tristin mays
At the bottom people were debating saying she is not black even though she clearly states she is
She is pretty 
So his come she can not be considered pretty without being mixed
My looks are very similar to her
What gives someone the right to tell someone what ethnicity they are?

It doesn't matter what she wants to call herself, her DNA is not full black. That's what people were commenting on. Her appearance is clearly affected by some Caucasian dna and those people were just trying to figure out her mix because mixed people look exotic to many.

And ps, only Africans are full black. Most black people are 11% white because of raping during slavery and masters making the cute slaves their side wives... Thomas Jefferson had kids with his slave wife. If you look at a black person then look at an African, you'll notice some facial variety because our African genes are partially watered down by that 11%.

Now don't get me wrong, there are many cute black girls, but she's clearly a mixed girl. She's a cute mixed girl, I'll give her that. Beyonce and Solange are cute black girls.

Why wouldn't they have the right? There is no law against it. Besides it isn't about her being pretty, it is about her looking so light.

For a lot of people race is merely a way to describe what someone looks like and not what that person identifies as. She looks too light in those photos, for most people to see her as what she identifies as.

No one can tell you what ethnicity you are, unless they are geneticists and know where your DNA comes from, otherwise no one can

Because in a place like America there is a big emphesis on race. On top of that everyone has their own definition of what physical appearance fits in each racial category as if any of the shit actually matters. Also I personally believe the rest of America don't want to see or acknowledge black people when they are pretty or intelligent even if they don't realize it.
