What is the difference between a smart-ass and a dumb-ass?

i can't tell, i was told anderson and smelko, when i was in the 8th grade. that does not answer anything. what is the real answer?

A dumb-ass: would just be someone with a "normal" brain mentally yet do things without common sense.

A smart-ass: would be someone who really thinks they are smart/have common sense, but really they don't. Typically they use sarcasm or if they knew something you didn't they try to pick on you about it.

Smartass: A normal person who acts like a prick by trying to: Impress you, look better than you, etc. by using sarcasm, making snarky remarks, etc.

Dumbass: A person who gives no thought to common sense, does stupid things.
