To find out my real Japanese name, I took my name, put it into Chinese, translated the characters into Japanese kanji, then chose the characters that would make a good name (dropped one, one didn't exist, and chose the “on” pronunciation for another). It comes to Rina. If I do the exact same thing straight from my native name to Katakana it's Rena which is really close. You should try it.
