Two different labels have been given to the same individual for the same action, i. e. 'Devoted' and 'Oppressed'

If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.

What is the difference between Devoted and Oppressed?

of course she has a choice to wear anything she chooses, she has a choice to do anything she chooses.

Then it's not oppression. If she chooses to put that garb on then she is the same as the nun.
