no I'd just laugh and say "okay then"
I know I'm not a "barbarian" so the insult wouldn't mean much to me, not to mention the fact that it's such an old fashioned insult that it would be ridiculous to use

Well my sister is quarter native, and she got a bit offended when someone called her a corn eating savage, so ya for her probably. For me, I like the word. It sounds cool.
