ish, it's sort of more like quantum computing, you can have a value of one or zero, and so many in between those two numbers, and to be honest, if and when we find aliens, it's quite likely they'd have genders we wouldn't even be able to comprehend, after all, it's just a role assigned by nature, why not take it and make it our own?

that's biology, but Gender has become more to do with identity today, so yes you're right to say there are two biological genders, but even that number would change when people start experimenting

you want freedom, you want all colours of it then, see, there's nothing wrong with going your own way on this, identity is subjective to you as an individual, you don't have to fit in, you can stand out! sure in the US it's a bit more difficult because people seem more judgmental there, but i dream of a society where everyone is just accepting of everyone, no matter their choice, and actually celebrates the fact that they choose that over sticking with the social order.
i personally don't care. if someone wants to determine their own gender that's on them ti really doesn't impact me
if someone wants to claim they're some imaginary gender they have the right to do so because freedom of private lives and freedom of speech but we should have the right to say you're not said gender
@Lumberman53 why does it matter? why do you or i need to tell someone what their gender is? can't we live our lives without caring what someone else considers themselves to be?
I'm not saying that they shouldn't be allowed to claim they're said gender but if someone comes up to you and goes around saying I'm whatever imaginary gender I should have the right to respond to them and say no that's not real I have the right to an opinion if they want to keep insisting they're whatever gender fine but leave me out of it
because if you go around telling me I'm whatever gender I don't have to agree

If someone tells me that I'm a horse they should be allowed to tell me or anyone else that but of they're allowed to voice their opinion to me or anyone else should be allowed to say otherwise. I can understand why you say they should walk away but people should be able to debate each other of course I'm not saying that I'm going to make it my goal to everyone who claims to be transgender that they're such and such gender but if they say something to me then I might respond
@Lumberman53 it's just a non-issue for me. if someone thinks they are something. feels they are something then that's good for them. i don't really see why i need to tell them anything otherwise. my feeling is if it doesn't negatively impact my life or the lives of others then people can call themselves whatever tehy want
True they have the right to call themselves what they want I agree but still freedom of speech goes both ways, if you don't care to say anything you don't have to of course
@Lumberman53 well the freedom of speech thing is tricky. freedom of speech is in effect so long as you don't infringe on another person's life, liberty and pursuit of happines (in the USA). so (similar to hate speech which is illegal) if a government determines that you are infringing on someone's rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness i guess that may be where this legislation is sort of intended
That makes sense I suppose but my simply stating a disagreement is that really infringing on someone's life you're not harassing them or forcing them to stop just politely and respectfully stating a disagreement if disagreeing with them politely is hate speech then everything would be hate speech.

I get it that's there's a difference between sex and gender, but why do all these extra genders even matter? Keep the shit simple and identify as male or female. It sounds like people are pulling these names straight out of their asses.
